Google's very slow right now, and this is getting more and more of a problem. Anyone else having the same problem? Thinking of switching to Yahoo - no problems there. Read More

Nope - it's only Google that's misbehaving. The odd thing is that it's working better with IE8 (which I rarely use) than it is with Firefox.

[Same with IE8 now!]

That's because no one uses them, they should have a tumbleweed as their new logo. :p

Maybe (though having tried it for the first time in years it's a lot improved) but people are increasingly starting to try alternatives to Google - simply because Google's been so slow lately. Plenty more posts on this elsewhere.

I remember being bowled over by Google when it first apeared 10 years or so ago. Altavista was about as good as it got then! If they don't stay on top of the game, though, with server capacity, they'll lose out to competition.

Indeed....I was an AltaVista kinda guy way back then too. I remember someone recommending to try google and thinking pffft....how can it really be much better? It just all seems so alien every time I go on a new search engine now, I'm sure the majority of the major players are just fine though.

Been OK for a few days - but bad again now. Anyone else?
