Minors - not checking your mirrors, undue hesitation etc. I failed my test in November, I did a reverse park and a 3 point turn and an emergency stop - all perfect, driving - pretty much perfect. However, I had to join a dual carriageway in the right hand lane. There was lots of traffic in the left hand lane, I was doing the speed limit and the lanes merged into one after about 500 yards anyway. He failed me because I did not move over to the left, this is classed as a serious fault. So don't do that!!! Good luck :)

dont hesitate @ round abounds, if your unsure to go, just wait. Always check you're mirrors when changing lanes and take your time, alot of people fail here for just switching lanes without looking @ other cars Take as much time as you want during maneuvers , dont rush.

Make sure you make it extremely obvious to the instructor that you are checking your blind spots, mirrors etc

Maybe ask your instructor for a quick mock test.

a lot of minors are very non-descript like "steering" or "gears" etc, and different examiners have different thresholds for giving these out. don't worry incessantly about minors, u can get a good few and still pass.

major faults are the ones to avoid!!

i did mate failed it miserably a few weeks back my drivings improved a lot though

this site is useful, has the marksheet, and you can click onto different sections and it will tell you what the examiner is looking for in that section

The only thing I can say is to make it OBVIOUS when you're looking in your mirrors. If they don't think you're looking often enough - they'll fail you, even if you were looking. So make it a good obvious turn of the head. And, drive safely - following their instructions. Mine told me to take the next right, and I did, straight into a petrol station. Still didn't fail. They sent my dad the wrong way up a one way street, but he did ask if they were sure, and they were. He still passed too! BE SAFE, good luck!

make sure you get your mirror checks in. if you are seen to be doing them constantly ant properly during the first part of your test it wont be picked up as much/looked for as much later on in the test.

i had a problem where i could easily glance at the mirrors so it didnt look like i was checking, so for the test i made sure i turned the mirror a little bit away from me so that i physically had to move my head to check it.

chat with the instructor if you are comfortable talking while driving, it will put you at ease as well as loosening the instructor up so to speak

it all depends on your instructor and how strict they are

apparently if you do a parallel park (reverse park) and hit the kerb its a fail, i did it in my test and the instructor passed me even my driving instructor was shocked lol
