just wondering about going on the internet, if I use it when its connected to wifi I wont get charged but if I am out one day and it can't connect wifi will it automatically start charging using the mobile internet?
sorry to be totally thick, just don't want a massive bill lol I get 500mb included in my price plan. also I have an option to have facebook live stream thing on my desktop on my phone, does this go through wifi or would I be charged??
rep for any helpers

I would ring vodafone and ask but its way too hot to be stuck with the phone to my ear for the next 30mins xx

500mb should be more than enough for general surfing etc, when I got my contract with orange I asked what happens if you go over 500mb and the guy said they give you warning letter if you always abuse it every month then they start charging, I would have thought other companies would be similar

I use the internet on my phone a lot in a month and at a push hit 100mb...I do have a blackberry though and I think that compresses data down but even so I dont think its too easy to hit over 500mb unless you are downloading files or streaming

as Numptyj said your allowance should be enough especially if only using whilst you cannot through wifi , which by the sounds of things you will be doing whilst at home, so should be ok

Most phones record usage in settings somewhere. I know mine does.

500mb a month should be fine , as long as you don't watch a lot of videos /streams.

Depends on your usage , but even when you exceed your limit most companies will just warn you not to do it again.Depends what network you are on

I agree with the comments so far I'm on o2 and they are supposed to contact the user to warn them against over usage. I have an android phone and use a free app called '3g watchdog' it allows you to define your limit and warns you as you get close to it during your billing period
