i always use compatables-the inks cost more than the printer otherwise
#2
Compatible inks messed up my last Cannon printer, I will always use official ink cartridges in the future.
I suppose it all depends on the printer though & of course which compatible inks you use .................. Which printer have you got?

might help if you say what printer you got, then you can get some advice off someone who has the same x

defo official, they last a lot longer too :)

had a canon ip4300 and the compats ruined the printer! Hence why i said HAD! :)

I have a brother dcp-120 and have only used compats since the originals ran out with no probs. Prior to that an epson R300 which went through what should have been 4 service cycles with no probs either, printed 10-20 discs a day on it plus covers and 2-3 30 page documents over around 2 years with no probs either using solely compats once the originals expired.

Failing that have you thought about a C.I.S. system for it?

I've had a Canon IP4200 and run them on conpats as well as the Epsom R220 I use mainly now also run on compats and had no problems and I'm a heavy print user.

I normally sell the originals that come with a printer, it almost makes the printer free in some cases

I used compats in 2 of my Epson printers, it ruined them and i have a new Epson printer now but i will be using official ink from now on.

Depends if you use it a lot I think, used to get ppl come in for literaly boxes of cheepies were I worked, then others would get blocked with just 1 cart :? Me I use Epson only till redundacy hit, then Inkrite which work brill.

I run a home business and at uni, so print 100 pages a day

You think I should buy both and see what works best or stick officially

They don't cost £40+ - don't know if you've priced that for both ? They are the same cartridges that I use - Original HP 350xl & 351xl & they cost me £17.99 each delivered. Last for ages as XL capacity. Don't know which site you were using. Hang on & I'll add link here

& I've just realised I also have the same all-in-one printer - C5280 :)

Yes, official ones - only ever used them. Cartridge People normally send them out within 2 days as well. My OH has a C4280 (smaller than my C5280) which also uses the same cartridges so we order them quite regularly as he has a high print requirement

I keep an eye on prices & they seem to be the cheapest reputable supplier for original cartridges for last few month now. I've never used refills or copy manufacturers before. Great printer btw, but isn't it a monster ;-)

EDIT : This should take you to the direct link for all available cartridges for your C5280 printer, scroll down to get to the original HP xl cartridges >

No probs :). Next time you come to buy again just do a quick price comparison search first - just use something like google shopping etc. Base.com used to charge same item price with free delivery, but then they started adding postage costs per item of +£4 for colour & +£2 for b/w, so it's always worth doing a double check before ordering

( i dont do epson any more i swear by canon )
