My lovely postie left one of those "we had a parcel for you..." cards.

It informed me that he'd left the pacel "under car". Good job I got the card beofre leaving the house really lol.

In the past they've been in the bin...

Mine takes the time to write a card saying "doesnt fit through letterbox"..even tho the porch door is always open and the handle is literally 30cms from the letterbox. So he takes it back with him, and I have to go pick it up

Yeah my parents had one left in the green bin by a catalogue companys couries, trouble is they are partially disabled so get the bin on return and collect automatically by the binmen, and it was green bin day!! Fortunately the binmen always have a quick look in it before emptying so saw it and was honest enough to knock on the door with it, catalogue company got a right rollicking for that and knocked 50% off the bill for it, I'd imagine the couriers got even worse though!

Whats as bad is when they have a temp postie and dont even send the parcel with them and you just get a card saying we tried to deliver.................. when you know they didn't as you saw the postie coming down the drive and collect mail straight from them and they get caught out, complained to the local office and they say its because at busy times they take on temp staff and dont get time to fully vet them first!!!!

Our sorting office only open till 12 noon each day... if you are out to work early you cant collect parcels till Saturday!!

at least some of you get your parcels . I've had the odd one nicked and loads of people in the erea have had their mail stolen , especially CD's & DVD's .Theres been a number of ocasions where they've found 30,000 items of post in a posty's loft , that's aparantly a weeks worth of post . Thieving Git's .............I say

I must be lucky..i dont have probs with postie but I do have probs with local post office...I would not trust them as far as I could throw them..I send out mail which has to be weighed each and every week but each time I use the main post office i am in fear that they just take the parcel themselves...When they put their own stamp on it I ask for it back and then post it myself in the box outside..
I now use royal mails frankinf service where you can buy you postage online and print it off and put it on mail yourself...much much better idea...

I don't have any *problems* with them. The parcels are always well hidden and fairly safe if they do leave them, they're friendly and their places of hiding parcels always make me laugh. Maybe that's why they do it. :)

My current ones are generally fine, they knock and wait, only thing is the parcelfarce ones hammer the door a lot.

Still only had 1 packet of sweets and 1 dvd go missing in the 3 months I have been here.

Whereas at my old place I had housing benefit cheques go missing then one was posted through my door a week later crumpled up and not in envelope

And 2 graphics cards, about 10 dvds and 360 games. and more.

Mine blow hot and cold. Some take the parcel back to the depot after leaving a little card, which is of coarse is only open on weekdays from 0730 til 12.00 but thats what they are supposed to do .

Others leave them in all manner of places rather than take em back as they may have to redeliver them, under cars, behind bins, in my bottle collection bin!!, but mostly they just leave the bloody thing on the door step in full view. When you complain they tend to move them onto another round so they are somebody elses problem.

my postman is great, all parcels are left in the paper bin if were not in with a little card. If a different postie is on and he takes it back the regular postie brings it with him the next day cos we ive 15mins from the collection point.

If we know dhl are coming we leave a note and they put it in the garage which is great (dhl collection point is 1 hour from my house)

But something strange is going on at royal mail-my oh lives in the city and i order a computer game and aftershave for them and their brother and neither item has turned up (ordered a month ago)

ive got the exact same problem and its been happening for the last 4 years! every year from the start of October to the end of Jan i have thousends of parcels "lost", letters opened, dvds & cd "Lost", bank cards, chq books and statments " Lost". ive complained a million times to the royal mail and they do nothing. So this year i went to the police and finally somethng was done over a 10 period ( all my post was opened then resealed, signed on the front of EVERY letter then put in a bag saying " your item was opened and we sealed it in this!) so now thisweek it started again, i got my mail monday 3 letters opened, 2 dvds missing and a flipping partrige in a pear tree!. today was the best all my mail is open, the dvds are loose and thrown through the letter box, and a very private letter from my solicitor has been read and folded funny and stuffed back in the torn envolope! im fuming!!:x:x

thousands of parcels???? really that many you must get a lot of mail

I have had a couple of occasions were the card been delivered but they have not knocked at the door. Think it is to save them carrying packets or parcels. Also some occasions when have had mail for another address. I wonder if some of my mail has had a similar fate.

Most of the time ok though

the only problem that i have with the postie is that he takes my door off the hinges with him chapping you would think that i was completly deaf. even if he knows that i am coming to the door he still does it... it must make his day knowing that i nearly sh&t myself everytime he rattles it lol

I usually always ring but if i can't hear the bell from the doorstep then i don't know if it works or not then i knock. Maybe he thinks you are still in bed so he knocks hard.
