This is the way forward!

Exactly what I have been trying to say in my previous posts - don't wait until things are done for you, get up and do them yourself.

The more Private enterprise initiate with the public sector, the more bureaucrats we get rid of and we are left with a facility to solely support current and new essential enterprise.

This is NOT a failing of our current government that sound would wish to pounce on.

This is the BIG SOCIETY deal we have. Those with cash helping the society that made their cash for them in the first place!

We'll all be capitalists at this rate!

I thought the Tories said we had a broken society why an earth would the then want help from the same broken society - crazy.

BTW you may want to look at something called PFI which granted was introduced by Major but did continue under Labour - so private investment has nothing to do with Cameron and the big society nor is it new.

I think it is very early to relate anything to Cameron to be fair (good or bad).

However, I do know from my fiance being a nurse that this particular PCT has done NOTHING to support any private investment.
Interesting that this is announced AFTER such an ominous election.

PFI and private investment sound great in principal but all the private companies do is tender a really low bid to win the contract then can't provide the service at such a low cost. Then we end up with either substandard facilities or the government end up bailing them out. I'm sure it has been shown that the true cost of PFI is more expensive than the NHS running it themselves.
Oh and please don't forget- the private companies are not just putting money in out of the goodness of their hearts - they are there to make more money.

Using your healthcare example

I guess its important to know if there are any vested interests at stake
