Hia,

Does anyone have a link on the £60 (ish) taxback we're supposed to get this month?

Everyone in my office is very confused about it & I'm having trouble explaining it. I'm sure there was a link on here a while back to a bbc story but I'm not sure what to search on to find it.

Thanks,
worto.

it's a bit hidden - check your tax code against last months & it might have changed or there will be a credit in the tax field somewhere.

I don't get paid until tomorrow so not sure.

worto.

Already have

2 pairs of boxers and a belt from TK Maxx - £23.97
1 pair of Adidas Superstars - £54.99
2 new shirts from Next - £57
getting cashback from the Government - PRICELESS
There are a lot of things governments cant do right. For everything else, there's rebates

OK...obvo spent more than just the rebate!

Anyone know whether I'll get one? I don't earn enough to pay tax.

huh? It wasn't a joke. Wasn't sure if they were paying it out to every low earner or whether they were just paying it to those who pay tax. I guess not.

umm, no. It's a TAX rebate, only payable if you actually paid the tax in the first place....

My payslip also made no reference to it, but seemed to be more than usual.

if you got paid weekly one week you would have noticed it as you might have got say a 30 quid tax back and not paid tax for the week.... if you get paid every month then your tax "most people" pay is higher than the 60 quid tax back. so will just look like less tax has been paid.... ( something like that anyway ) :P

No, if you weren't paying tax in the first place you won't get it. It's basically compensation for the removal of the 10p tax band and the mess caused by doing that.

for some strange reason it's not aimed at low earners.

I think you have to earn something like between 7k-33k?

Hmm i've just had a look at my payslip for this months payment (get paid tomorrow) and it doesn't appear to have been reduced. :x

I have not got mine :?

I spoke to payroll and they said i'm not on a cumulative tax band or something (not been back here long as been at uni) and so had to ring the tax office. So i did and they are going to send some form to my employer to fill out to get it all sorted, so should be in next months packet now. I wait eagerly for it lol
