Graphics Cards - Help Needed

I have a Dell PC with a Geforce 7300 LE card and recently bought a BenQ G2222HD Monitor which has a DVI connector. If I connect the card to the monitor via a DVI cable, will I get HD pics at 1920x1080 resolution or should I upgrade the graphics card? if so which card should I get on a tight budget.

Have you got the monitor hooked up to the 7300 now?

Have you updated the drivers on the 7300?

Have you tried any software such as Powerstrip to force the resolution you want?

You should not have to upgrade the graphics card to support that monitor.

No It isn't installed yet, I just wondered if I would have to upgrade the graphics card as my mate said the 7300LE was sh*t.

It might be a bit crap, but if you are only using the computer for browsing the internet and such then it will be absolutely fine. If however you want to play games at 1920x1080 resolution, such as Crysis. Then obviously, you will then have to upgrade.

For normal use it will be fine, does the 7300 have DVI out? For games it is crap, for general use it is perfectly adequate.

Yes it has a VGA and DVI output, if I wanted to upgrade my graphics card what should I go for (on a budget)

When you say (on a budget) it works so much better when you tell us what the budget is. Also you have to tell us why you want the card, what will you use it for.

About £50 ish I mainly surf the net but play some games like sims 3 and sim city etc but no action type games apart from maybe runescape.

Well do they run ok now?

Sims 3 can be a bit jerky
