Hey im compiling Birthday/ Christmas lists, and am looking for great african films, so please post yours.
I Have:

Hotel Rwanda (About the genocide)
Shooting dogs (As Above)
Blood Diamond
Last King of Scotland
Goodbye bafana
Cry Freedom
Constant Gardener
Tsotsi (Very good if a little unknown)

Any of those sort of films i would love, so please post yours as i will see if i can get them :D

And if anyone else is looking for great african films then my little list could be a good starter.

PS: Not really interested in older films (African queen, Out of Africa etc)

Also looking for great foreign films.

I have - Night Watch and Day Watch (Which are amazing)
All of del toros, Cronos, Devils backbone, pans labrynth etc
Also have lives of others.
Also have watched a few others, but am looking for more.

What qualifies as an "african film" to you?

i.e a film that was made in africa, a cast of mainly africans etc
#7
To clarify i mean films set in africa/made in africa/consisting mainly of an african cast (Shooting dogs, hotel rwanda)

I do not mean Nollywood (Nigerias version of hollywood)

But thanks for suggestions;

Haven't seen malcom x or the gods must be crazy, or ice in alex, so may have a look at them.

Love zulu and black hawk down
