Sold something on ebay and in the last 10 seconds a ZERO FEEDBACK bidder bidded.

Why on EARTH isn't there an option to block all ZERO FEEDBACK bidders and not just people with "less than -1 feedback" which is actually impossible ?

I've got every buyer/seller requirement set as ON...

If I give a 2nd chance offer will they take away the final credit fee from the zero feedback scumbag?

Help much appreciated

ermmm we all started with zero feedback, why does that make someone a scumbag? and you can block low feedback bidders
#2
Just cancel the their bids, they will not be able to bid on your item again if you do that!

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/manage_bidders_ov.html

Sorry, just realised you said they bidded in the last 10seconds... Just send a 2nd chance offer, not sure about the relist credit though.

Yeah. Zero feedback scumbag? Nice seller.

Just had the same thing happen on a car of mine. Sent an e-mail asking for a name, address and phone number. It's typical, I had a guy with over a hundred positive feedback winning the auction too.

And the winner only joined today!!
#5
u'll get charged at first for both, but once the transaction is cancelled ull get reimbursed for the one with the zero feedback

but sassie has a point, see what happens before you decide theyr a badun, they may just be new to ebay
#6
Um if zero feedback buyers werent allowed how could someone buy something if they were new?
#7
cant you set it so only credit card on file people can bid? just do that and stop complaining.

Yeah. Zero feedback scumbag? Nice seller.

It doesn't.

But nine times out of ten it's people messing around I have found.

Just one question, "How did you start on ebay"
suspended#10
I can not believe this thread was even started! its a bit pathetic that you dont wan't someone to buy something from you because they have no feedback

Why should they have to prove they are worthy of buying stuff by having to sell stuff first?

I agree that some zero feedback bidders are timewasters but that is part of ebay and something you are going to have to live with if you sell stuff on the site!
#11
I thought you could set it to block bidders with less than x feedback.

Has that changed now?
#12
I can say everyone starts somewhere but low feedback people tend to be the time wasters and worse (from my experience). Have they paid yet?
suspended#13
Don't think calling them scumbags is fair I just bought something off of eBay on Saturday and I have zero feedback as I used to use girlfriend account and if you could stop people with zero feedback bidding everyone would do this thus stopping new ebayers being able to bid just remember you also had zero feedback at one point

Many moons ago I too was a scum bag, but I worked hard and rose above it all and now I am proud to say I have reached the heights of ebay pond life.:p

Agree with all the above comments, at least wait to see if they cough up before complaining.

I sell a lot on ebay, and most of the problems I have are with long established members. Some of the newbies take a while to pay, but I always send a polite email, and more often than not get a reply.

In my experience it's the long established members who think it's ok to buy things and not pay, ignore emails, and not respond until you cancel a sale!

Give 'em a chance, everyone has to start somewhere!

Just because ebay has been round for ages doesn't mean everone has used it for ages!

Inb4 new thread and complaints about receiving negative feedback.

Theres a difference from selling a piece of 2nd hand junk for £3 to a 0 feedback buyer. and selling a laptop/mobile/vouchers/tickets to a 0'er.

So I agree with the OP,you should be able to make a choice on who bids/buys before the auction ends.

"everybodys got to start somewhere" doesn't wash with me, they can start on an Alf Alarm clock.

So you "know" the OP was selling a laptop and agree that anyone with zero feedback is a scumbag? Just wow!

So someone who starts out on ebay to buy something big (like a tv, laptop etc) has to buy loads of crap and tat they dont actually want before others will deal with them? think thats a bit unfair.
And if they were to do that everyone would acuse them of being a chinese scammer, buying lots of small items to get their feedback up and then scamming someone for a larger item.
Everyone really does have to start somewhere on ebay, big or small. Stop being so negative.

No I dont know what he/she was selling, should I? If the OP was selling a 2nd hand shirt or some other tat, I dont think they'd be quite as peeved as if a £200 phone was sold. I wouldnt be.

No, I said sellers should have the choice to let whoever bids/buys their stuff. If you want to sell a £3000 3dTV to a 0 feedback so be it!
#23
you can buy feedback so makes no real difference
#24
Seems I was once a scumbag too.
I`m pleased to announce I have now reached the grand status of shoppingbag, due to the fact that some kind sellers from ebay actually let me buy from them.:-D
#25
I was lucky enough to be able to buy a £500 laptop from HP as a new ebayer. Imagine if they had adopted the OPs attitude!
#26
i can see it from both sides - we all have to start somwhere - i normally contact the bidder if they have low feedback or negative and make sure they know the score ie you win the auction you pay for item - its not being unreasonable to just confirm they are aware they bid on your item ,

So you dont know what the item was, but agreed with the OP despite now saying you wouldn't be peeved if it was a low value item. Do you also agree that all ebayers with Zero feedback are scumbags?

I agree ' scumbag' was a bit harsh op, why didnt you state when listing ' anyone with less than x amount of feedback contact me first before making a bid ' ?? seen this loads of times on Ebay

It's a waste of time writing that though isn't it because if anyone was a dodgy zero feedbacker they'd just ignore it anyway and we all know people don't read auctions properly either so probably wouldn't even see it lol

True but might give some back up from ebay if they did turn out to be a scammer and you had made it clear on your listing , Maybe anyway ?

Unfortunately it means nothing if you write that on an auction.

You cannot block zero feedback buyers, and rightly so.
#35
How is someone supposed to gain feedback if everyone blocked those with zero?

If I had low feedback or no feedback and was going to bid on an expensive item I would probably message the seller first to ask if it was an issue.
