Has this happened to someone else over the age of 18? Please tell me I'm not alone! Didn't even do anything to provoke her!

Everyone keeps telling me that. I did attend Uni for a year, but I lived from home so a missed opportunity perhaps? I don't really see any point in moving out though unless I have a long term girlfriend or something.

Buy her some chocolate or flowers, apologise, tell her you respect her lots and ask (nicely) for your keys back.

.......And you could ask her whether she would like to come to the cinema with you!

True. Rent-free also

The only "rules" are that she'll initiate a curfew on me, when I have a night-out planned. :(

Anywhoo, we've had a little talk now and appologised for "allegedly" disrespecting her. Havent got my keys back yet, but it's too late to go out now anyway, so hopefully we shall schedule something for tomorrow instead.

glad you have sorted it out with her and respect her wishes not to go out. Us mums sometimes feel a little down-trodden at times and one of my bug bears with my son was his lack of respect for me. (he will totally disagree that there was any lack) :-D:-D

I'll just use my "Mum, i'll get you arrested for opening my post under the Postal act." threat.

I've already threatened her if she opens any of my post this week.

whats the magic word? ;-)

I have 3 grown-up offspring (youngest 23) none of whom live with me. I never ever grounded mine and can only think you must have done something really serious to warrant this. I do endorse the 'live in my house follow my rules' though and always told my offspring this. I always said 'if you want to make the rules, get your own place to live'. Maybe you should do this?
