Well.. I've got my Adsa £007 cheap Casino Royale home...only to find it still has that red bar thing preventing the case from being opened! :x

I had planned on watching it tonight when I get in from work - I'm just getting ready to leave atm.

Is there any way to remove the red thing, without breaking the DVD case and DVD.. or am I going to have to take it back to the store tomorrow?:-(

Try a strong magnet, might be a magnatised lock

I once bought a shirt from H&M whilst visiting a friend in London, when I got back to the flat I realised they'd left an extremely proficient security tag attached through the pocket of the shirt. We used 3 saw blades getting the thing off, as I needed to wear it that evening :)

Use the tip of a screwdriver as a jemmy.....I can't imagine that they are too difficult to remove, the chap who removed the tab from a game I bought from there recently seemed to manage it without specialist equipment.

If you do damage the case take it back I am sure they will replace it,Asda usually very good for that type of thing.

I also bought an item of clothing where they left the security tag on.......bought the jeans on the east coast(Bridlington) and I live on the west coast.Had to go round various clothes shops to see if they would remove it for me,whilst trying to convince the staff I hadn't just stolen them from elsewhere!!!!!!
Lovely manager at New Look sorted it.....most eyed me with suspicion :D

They are designed to damage the disk/casing if forcible removed. Try a strong magnet, otherwise I'd suggest breaking into the case in a part where you know the disk wont be in harms way and then just replacing the box. If you remove the sleeve beforehand then in a new box it'll look fine.

Otherwise get a friend who works in asda to demagnatise it or alternatively borrow their asda coat and walk behind till and do it yourself. (yes this does work as the stores are usually so big staff wont stop you even if they dont recognise you)

Heh, I'll remember that for future reference, not that I have anyone who works at Asda. I opted for another option.. send my bro to Asda after he finished watching BSG on sky one :giggle:

Take it back and get it removed.

I bought a DVD from them a while ago that they forgot to remove the red bar.

I tried everything to get it out short of destroying the box, and couldnt shift it. So ended up taking it back and they removed it and apologised profusely.

The same thing happened to us when we bought the chocolate smelling Charlie and the chocolate factory dvd from asda. My daughter wanted to 'smell' it as soon as we got in the car, so we were able to take it back to get the red thingy removed . I would say take it back, and politely lay on how much effort it was for you to do so - you might even get a voucher for your inconvenience....
