GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City for PS3?

There's a lot of stories appearing today stating that the previously 360 exclusive DLC will be heading to PS3 very soon.
I don't think i would get them unless they were £15 ish.
What does everyone think

Surely if this is true its a good thing for GTA fans that own PS3's. The PS3 does need more quality games after all.

It was inevitable, microsofts 60 million would have only been enough for a timed release... Good opportunity for PS3 owners to expand liberty city though...

The PS3 has some good games if you look, it's the system update every time you switch it on that puts me off. Hopefully MS will announce some exclusives for the back end of 2010 as the cupboard looks pretty bare at the moment...

I'd love a Gears Of War 3 announcement at X10.

I think some decent exclusives, a roll out of a combined GPU/CPU with the next proposed motherboard revision "Valhalla" and the possibility of a smaller 360 unit in combination with cheaper manufacturing and Project Natal released late summer Sony will have to think of some things fast.

i think quit whining and get a 360. more/better exclusives (such as the 1st Modern Warfare 2 DLC, coming out a full month before the P$3).......well, this should start a nice, "healthy" argument which i'm playing no more part in and won't comment on from this moment but will watch with glee while others have a console slagging match.......on your marks.....get set......GO!

I think your grasping at what if's and maybe's... A console lives and dies on it's games (which you yourself attested to earlier), fact is there aren't enough exclusive Microsoft releases due at the back end of 2010 to bother Sony. Natal is just the emporers new clothes, it won't catch on and I'll point to how many wii's are covered in dust (mine included) as proof of that point.

I (sadly) have a job and family commitments - it'll happen to you one day when you grow up too...

I'm suprised you have anytime at all for video gaming, given how much the Haiti appeal must be eating into your free time.

Yeah thats true, and the 360 has far more games than Sony...no what ifs there. A console lives and dies by the quality of its ports (something developers have struggled greatly with the PS3 to code for), its gaming titles, and its pricing. It is clear to see which is the better gaming platform out of the two machines.

I own a Wii too, admittedly I don't play it much, that is due to the lack of decent quality games.

Doesn't really matter to me, I'll buy it for whichever format takes my fancy.

Subjective at best. I don't really care tbh I'll usually buy the game dependant on which format is the cheapest or has the greatest sell back value. I'm not going to argue over the merits of a box of electronics to see who has the biggest todger... if you're happy with you have then don't feel you have to apologise to me.

I'll happily debate the pro's and con's of all formats with you all night long if you like but (at my age) I can't really afford to get into 'mines better than yours' without feeling slightly ridiculous.

It can be like that, especially if you do not play your ps3 for months at a time. It happens like that with both my ps3's

[Edit] It seems someone has already said that :lol

Alan Wake is looking a very promising game set for a May release, was announced 4 years ago and is a Microsoft Studios only release for the 360 only.

Too True... So Is Heavy Rain. Have a butchers at this...

PS3

God of War 3
Heavy Rain
Gran Turismo 5
The last Guardian
White knight Chronicles

Xbox 360

Alan Wake
Splinter Cell Conviction
Mass Effect 2
Crackdown 2
Halo Reach

There probably isn't that much in it and I hate Gran Turismo games so I'll probably get more out of Crackdown 2.

To say one game is better than every other game on another system is prue stupidity at its greatest.

Very strong titles for each platform this year, but on the matter of subjective, with regards comparing the platforms thats all you can be, have a crystal ball and look to the future, my comments were more in line with the fact the 360 has a lot to offer this year besides the games, it has been strongly rumoured that valhalla will be released this year, cheapening manufacture, and certainly Natal will be launched, regardless whether or not its seen as a novelty, Microsoft are pushing the hardware to go with the software.

The main reason I have held off buying the PS3 is because I have not been impressed with shoddy ports and its lack of (admittedly growing healthily now) quality exclusives. Heavy Rain I am very much looking forward to taking a look at though.

Crackdown is like marmite, I hated that game, had it with my first 360 and traded it in the day after.

I loved that game . Was a bit easy though like scoring in if i remember rightly about 1 second and then putting 40 or 50 past keeper on whatever the hardest setting was. I played it far too much (obsessively to be true) and to the point where I knew where everyman off screen was and where he would be in less than 1 second wherever I placed ball, even before the computer :lol

Been years since my amiga has seen any light is in the loft :Class game for it's era

OOOhhhh a full 30 days.
Maybe if Microsoft spent their money on 1st party studios, and new IP's instead of timed exclusive DLC's they'd have kept their worldwide sales gap to the PS3 and caught up to the Wii, as it is they are tumbling.

Natal is unproven at the moment, one title has already been shelved because it can't track smaller movements (like fingers), and there is a problem with lag that they need to sort out.

I'm guessing you're part of the DEV team? If so can you tell me which one has been shelved and how it's working out in general?

Third hand news... CBA.

Would rather give it a go myself before jumping to conclusions, I guess that's what makes me a fan of gaming rather a genre or even (bizarrely) a system.

Not really third hand news as it's appeared as direct quotes from many different developers.
I've been a gaming fan since the ZX81, that means that i'm allowed to have an opinion on anything either released or unreleased. If an "in development" product has problems, they are still problems, but ones that can be rectified. end of.
I can afford a 360, i just hate the controller.

So what about all the developers who said the PS3 architecture was too difficult to program for and is the reason for such shoddy ports of 360 games? They still hold a grain of truth? You can't have it both ways...

By all means have an opinion of something that's in development but bear in mind that it's by it's very nature someone else's opinion...
