Year out maybe then replace Fergie?

It's the only Prem team I can imagine him at... Doesn't seem one to be swayed by the money of Chelsea/City.. Don't think Tottenham have enough stature for him yet?
banned#7
Why is everyone automatically assuming he is coming to the prem?

Suppose Barca were pretty much a complete team before he took over, They've played the same style for as long as I can remember, The team virtually picks itself etc...

Not sure he could manage the tactical side of things, However his cv is pretty good and he could learn a thing or two from Fergie in his last years.

Do you honestly think he would go to united as assistant manager? i cant see it happening. IF he does vacate to the prem, city or Chelsea have to be the picks. i would love to see him at arsenal though.

Come to arsenal pep!

Why not, He likes United, Fergies not retiring for a couple of years, He could fit in, Also some of the Barca players may follow him :).

What's up with Wenger?

Don't get me wrong,Wenger has done amazing things for the club in the past and present. But Failing to use your money doesn't only have you miss out on potential signings, but it sees players you already have walk away.

I think pep would fit the bill nicely.

I'm sure the money goes to the club, Not the manager, he will only have so much to spend, Arsenal's wage policy is bound to put off a lot of the money grabbing players.

Do you think Wenger could of kept Fabregas for longer?

Do you thing Pep would be handed more money to spend than Wenger?

Arsenals problem is lack of experience and consistency.

Wenger had a £100 million to spend in January, it was blindingly obvious that reinforcements were needed, he resisted the urge to reinforce his squad with an experienced recruit. He wont loosen the piggybank, do you think arsenal have no money to spend or something?

As mentioned in the other thread earlier:

Laughing at the DM's suggestion that Pep could be the next England manager.

Actually, thinking about the task and how late in the day it is to get someone in for the Euros, why not offer it to RDM?

Leaving when things are tough for the first time. Bottler is the word.

He will be a failure anywhere else he goes to.

Tactically he is naive, spunked loads of money and I mean loads on gash players. 50 million euros +etto for ibra anyone? And loads of other terrible buys.

Luckily to have inherited such a gifted team.

Were their many players available midway through the season? You think they really had that much to spend? It's possible but they seem reluctant to buy players of substantial value. Is that the club or Wenger?

Who knows? but as i said, if you don't bring new players in, you aren't going to hang onto all the players you have got. RVP for example, hope he stays but wouldn't surprise me if he did leave (btw i think he will stay)

As for the fabregas point, No, i really dont think we could have held onto him for longer, even with a title winning squad. His mind had been made up for a couple seasons and we all knew it was going to happen.

football is about winning, and for big clubs football is about trophies. The rest is history,we are not going to be remembered for non-existent wenger football philosophy. Barca, madrid, milan, et al will always be remembered. History does not remember losers.

We are better than 7 years without a trophy.

Resigning? He should be sacked

I remember an article a few months back that stated that he doesn't enjoy management and finds it too stressful. Can't see him doing anything for a couple of years.

Erm, he already said last year that he will leave at the end of his 4 year contract.

he did an excellent job

turned potential into the worlds best

thing is as his team got better others tried harder to beat them - they currently have no plan B

He is leaving when things have gotten harder but at the end of the day he made atleast 6-7 players worldbeaters and also has the best player in the world in his squad.

valdes, puyol, pique, iniesta, xavi, messi, pedro, busquets, abidal were unknowns
he made them play to their full potential

look at the impack yaya toure had for man city - its all down to pep that he was so good last season and even now is brilliant.

he has flaws - no plan b, ibrahimovic, loss of etoo (badly needed him this season), over reliance on messi but at the same time he did win the champions league 2x, destroy madrid, make barca the best club team in the world, added consistency to their play, won 13 trophies, won every trophy to be won in one season

hes smart. he knows he will never have a team like barca ever again, maybe hes demotivated, maybe hes losing the team or dressing room - regardless - he made a big impact and stuck with it and is moving on

is he a bottler, quite possibly, but he also is a risk taker and could have his pick of any club to manage in any league in the world at present!!!

They'll win the copa del ray and that will be one more trophy in 1 year at Barcelona than Fabregas got in 8 years at Arsenal tbf
#33
Can't really see where he is going to go , contenders

Chelsea: RDM maybe given more time especially if he wins the ECL
Man City: If they win the league then hard to sack him
Utd: Either a year out and replace SAF next summer or SAF to move upstairs this summer, which is unlikely imo.
Arsenal: probably he best fit but unlikely to sack Wenger this summer
AC/ Inter: Possible but not really the high profile clubs in Europe these days
PSG / Anzhi: Massive pay deal to drop down a level, unlikely.
Another Spanish club: Unlikely he will go anywhere but the big two.

I would say if City don't win the league then in all reality he'll end up there, if Chelsea don't win the ECL he could also end up there. Best fit for me would be a year out and SAF announces his move upstairs for this time next year.

I am not sure his style of play would be that successful in the premiership though, Arsenal have played as near as you can get to Barcelona for over 5 years now and won diddly squat, I would imagine any team Pep took over being very similar and possibly having similar results. AVB would have probably tried the beautiful game at Chelsea given the chance, would that have worked?

I certainly wouldn't envy Pep's replacement though, quite an ageing squad and from what I have seen of the the replacements coming through the ranks just don't seem to be of an equal quality. 5 or 6 of that squad will be over the hill in the next season or three.

Athletic Bilbao manager Marcelo Bielsa apparently in the frame.

Even if Chelsea wins the champions league Roman Abramovich will definitely try to sign Guardiola because Abramovich always want attractive football in stamford bridge.

I would find it truly astounding if they sacked RDM after winning the ECL (but I know where you're coming from)

or most likely he will sign a Years Extension with Barca to dominate la liga again?!

OFFICAL Pep Guardiola leaving Barcelona at the end of the season

I like guardiola as a manager but i would happily take the barca Job!
