Well I can pick my holidays!

After 9/11 I was due to fly out to Paris from Glasgow and what a nightmare!

Now for my 40th birthday i'm due to fly glasgow to newark, 4 days later to las vegas then 4 days later las-vegas to glasgow via newark..

Not worried about security as such but more time through security!!!!!!!!!!!

Flying continental who are advising an hour more! LOL - lots of stuff I've already arranged is now screwed!!!!!!

Nothing will stop me going but more stressful than i thought for a nice trip for my 40th1

bet it was more of a nightmare for those that died and their families

It's a repeat of the other government set-up where the airports then stopped everyone carrying more than 100ml liquids. So this event is probably to make us not take powders and stuff. Not much else we can take on planes now.

gf is coming back from albany via newark on wed same airline......she had several hour delay on her way there on the 22nd because of the snow.......you can check the flights status online at the continental site(as i will be doin on wed:)).....connecting flights were missed so they put her on stand by with option of hotel paid for it there was no space....lucky there was space
#8
advise an hour but don't have to stick with it surely
#9
Its a wonder anyone goes to america any more, hardly worth the effort.
#10
gotta be there 3 hours before the flight......adding an extra hour will mean 4 hours...they are strict and close check in..... its a joke tbh as everyone on every flight with them is queueing in the same queue......then time starts ticking away til checkout close and they pull eveyone out of the queue and fast track em with half hour left before their check in closes......

shambles....thw queue was in several different spots and regardless u have to join the back.........

even if the flight is delayed you still have to check in at the alloted time and then wait around.....

Agreed, it seems that the all knowing Yanks knew about this recent individual, yet he was still allowed on a plane to the states.

The mind boggles at their incompetence.:x:x

apparently there are 500,000 on the same list as what he was on and even with his father alerting them they did nothing. now eveyone has to suffer pointlessly because of incompetence and them showing to do something after its all happened.....jokers:roll:

Stonehenge ( briefly - you can't even go into the circle, we just look from the A303), London, Canterbury, Ryanair!

we were looking at something like this....just a day trip 60-80 quids each

Private Viewing of Stonehenge- Enter the inner circle at Stonehenge

Highlights:

* Private viewing of Stonehenge at sunset or sunrise
* Enter the inner stone circle
* Visit Lacock, a delightful Saxon village
* See where Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice were filmed
* Meal stop in a 13th century inn (food/drinks not included)
* Visit Bath - free time to shop and explore
* Entrance to the Roman Baths and Pump Room

That sounds really good for the getting into the stones. I didn't know that was allowed at all. I would pay for that.
Re the rest, I don't know if you have been there before:
Lacock is good and the photography museum isn't as drab as you might imagine ( even better if there are no French school choildren :x). Bath is OK and if they whisk you through the Baths it won't be much worse than y9 school trip. ( the proper baths themselves are quite good). Crescent is OK ( although not as good as the Georgian stuff in Edinburgh) and we liked the Assembly Rooms. I guess you'll survive the 13th C Inn - no food/drinks provided!
I don't know about the film stuff.

make sure you take plenty spare boxers - those that are non-flammable

The film locations are in Lacock and and are not much just some shop fronts they placed fronts over to do the filming so nothing special. Bath is quite good if you do the sightseeing bus
