Why these dogs should be destroyed! Hope they catch the bloke, clearly not fit to handle dogs of this nature. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8368548.stm

They should be.

Its just wrong...first of all he couldnt stop the dog going, then to try and control it and stop it attacking it he's punching and kicking it? hardly the way to treat any dog really.

Just shows that he's not the master of his dog, pack animals should always be run by its master. He did the wrong thing by kicking it as it would just latch on harder.

Licence the owners with stiff penalties for failing to control them and then destroy the unlicenced ones.

Oh dear thats awful!

Any man in his late 20's wearing black tracksuit bottoms in public needs putting down also

Absolute SCUM, if he gets caught nothing will happen anyway, cretins.

Looks a bit like a Staffie - sure there are many on here claiming they're the best and most gentile dogs about as well...

the thing is, i have had a couple of freinds who have them and the are really nice dogs. They crave attention too. However a lot of owners get the to just fight, they treat them like dirt, beat them etc.... turn them into monsters

I had an Alsation attack dog turn on me at work after he rolled and injured himself thinking it was me that had hurt him, I thought he was the most gentile dog in the world, but any dog can just snap in an instant, scariest moment in my life.

The army gave him to me with arthritis in his back, should have claimed when he was put down for that exact reason but was just upset over his passing.
#13
that is so sad :( the thing is while its ok for any one to own any type of dogs no matter the age etc things like this will always happen
#14
its not a staff @ all, look at the vid with it walking down to the subway its FAR to big to be a staffy its some sort of larger breed or mixed breed

Oh my goodness, i am so upset. I was a guide dog trainer for 7 years and worked from the London centre covering this area before they all went into district teams. I'm actually sat in tears watching that its so vile and brings back awful memories of being spat at from ethnic minoritiys for working "dirty" dogs, also of the time some gimp pinched one of my working dogs from the back of the van not to mention the year long training i put into a dog, for the guide dog owner to keep it locked in the shed and forced it to drink alcohol, needless to say it died from neglect. I could go on, i wont. Just about to ring some pals to find out some more....shocking!
By the way as a Staffie owner...that IS NOT a staffie and would be greatful if you didn't bad mouth the breed any more :)

Staffie's are ugly

what a scumbag didnt even bother to see if the other dog and the lady were ok,

what a terrible thing to witness your dog being attacked like that and being able to do nothing

and no its not a staffie
#19
As for the owner kicking and punching the dog, its natural instinct. You cant determine what you will do in this situation, as for the dog not being on a lead, i think that is terrible. The dog would of obviously shown aggression signs in the past, and to even risk that possibilty happening again is horrendous.
Guide dogs are the most placid dogs there is, they are bred by selected breeding lines just so they are laid back and easy going. Its easy to determine that this working dogs career will be over.
P.S if your ever witnessing a dog fight and have a bucket of water or a hose pipe at hand (not likely in most cases) than thats the only way a dog fight ends quickly.

i have actually been attacked as a child of about 8 a dog attacked a little boy of about 2 i went to get him when the dog left and the dog savaged my face bit my nose and mouth the man hid the dog from the police as it was deemed dangerous this man owned various dogs and was a pensioner.then he brought the dog home and a couple of months later it attacked again for no reason .he was fined for hiding the dog.the dog was then destroyed
#21
im sure they think the same about u :-D

I was shocked at the lack of 'normal' behaviour from that dog. It has lost (in breeding?) the instinct to stop attacking, when there is total submission. Very, very dangerous and it needs to be destroyed..
#23
Its been lost in breeding AND upbringing.
I am all for dog licences coming back, i also feel they should be an age limit to owning a pet.
#24
it looks like a boxer of some sort and maybe he has it as a fighting dog or similar as he looks like he lives on the streets

I agree. I sometimes think that you should have to pass a test as well.
#27
i 100% agree but the thing is destroying the dog wont solve the problem of 1) people breeding dogs who cleary dont have a scooby what there doing 2) mixing dog breeds 3) allowing anyone any age to own a dog

Its not a boxer, it looks like an american bull terrier, maybe even some kind of pit. I don't wanna put it on again to definitly decide!
#29
thats really disgusting - exactly what i fear with my jack russell pup - being the victim of an attack
actually just a few weeks ago a staffie tried to attack my puppy lucky i had him on a lead the staffie was not - the guy looked off his face but dogs that can't be trusted should never be off the lead especially in parks with children etc

equally i think there should be some kind of test etc before you can legally own a dog

but i do think any dog can be controlled with the correct training
#30
wow shocking just really upsetting ~ dog looks more like an american bulldog to me, way too big to be a staffie

After working in the dog industry for as long as i have, i totally disagree...some dogs are just too far "past it".

Don't say anything bad about Staffies, the Staffie Police are out in full defensive force as per.

the government should introduce big dog license fees, also hefty fines, and DNA each dog so when we tread in the sh*t the owners can pay us compensation and a fine to the government, simple

Hopefully someone can recognise him.

That's horrific abuse of an animal, both animals!

Poor dog will lose its life for that very probably.. and all because the owner mistreated it and never taught it how to behave with another creature.

I'm not saying that at all - I'm alluding to the large number of posters on here who paint a whiter than white picture of the breed, a breed which has a large documented history of similar attacks - not to mention those on kids etc.
#38
you mean compared to the '' dog attacks, it must always be a staffy police ''

DNA every dog, its done in Germany, any dog not DNA'd get rid
#40
there are many reasons behind that a) what newspaper wants a headline like labrador attacks and b) the breed has exploded for example 75% of dogs based in battersea dogs home are staffs/staff crosses so it make sense we will see more written about the breed
