On PS3.

Which is the best to get in terms of everything?

Downloadable content. Quality of equipment. Gameplay.

Both the equipment seems good to me. The GHWT guitars are prone to breaking (clicker becoming faulty) - not sure if they fixed it for the GH5 revision of that guitar but Activision replaced mine straight away (didn't even have to send it in!)

Can't comment on the RB DLC but the GH dlc is pretty poor imo. It's expensive and mostly not to my taste and the free stuff isn't even worth downloading (and rare!).

In terms of gameplay, I don't find them much different.

For me, it's all about the songs which you get with it. I like GH3 & GHWT as they have a decent selection of songs which I like and I also have RB: AC/DC, being a fan of AC/DC
When I first invested in a guitar game, I based my decision solely on the songs as that's surely the most important part. I got GHWT first..

Guitar hero for instruments
Rockband for content
Tie for gameplay (Rockband is more technical (tighter timings as the difficulty increases) Guitar hero is more complicated note wise / faster. I find GH easier to follow.

TBH if you enjoy the type of game you are going to want all the games any way.

I would pick up Guitar hero package for instruments, then get Rockband 2, Rent/borrow Rockband 1 and import the songs over.

Tbh if you can get the instruments cheap the rest is gravy.
I would rather the GH instruments but at £50 inc game you cant really argue!

Personally i prefer GH, but wish it had the RB songs.
Plus BandHero.. the newest of the GH series is actually AWESOME.
