Had my driving test 2day!!!!!

and it didnt go as planned.

it was pouring with rain so a couple of times i drove below the speed limit, but not by much, to be carefull to allow more stopping time as it was so wet.

well he failed me for it. i got 8 minors in total but 4 were in one section which was progress of speed, so more than 3 in a section and its a fail.

i feel hard done by though as i feel i was being cautious and carefull due to the conditions, doing what i thought was safe driving.

now i wonder if i had drove the whole lesson at 30mph would he have failed me for driving fast in poor conditions and not allowing enough braking distance

Don't take it personally. I think they have a set number of passes and fails that each instructor has to do in any one day. Just re-book it straight away. I'm sure you'll pass next time

my daughter has hers on Monday at 1.20 was advised a Monday or tuesday morning after 10 by her driving instructor who is a HGV examiner , so fingers crossed< only thing is when I go out driving with her I think she is too slow, as you mentioned you were slow and cautious, this is the way she has been taught by her instructor who is an examiner
Sorry you failed but if you boook the next one bok for a Monday or Tuesday at 11.00 or near enough and good luck next time:thumbsup:

A lot of people say that but I reckon its BS. Having said that, if you pass everybody you lose out on all those lovely retest fees......:whistling:

Anyway OP, if it makes you feel any better I failed my first test driving OUT of the test centre :whistling::w00t: :?

yeah it cost me in total today £106 and nothing to show for it
£66 for the test
£40 for the 2 hours for my instructor

how did you fail driving out the test center

When he said i'd failed I asked him if it was because I had pulled away from the kerb without using my mirrors etc, he said he hadn't noticed that... But anyway my examiner 'reckoned' I pulled out in front of a transit making him brake as we were starting out on the test. I disagreed as he was plenty far away and I shot off like a rocket  Got the same examiner the 2nd time around and he passed me. Albeit grudgingly :w00t:

On the plus side the test was about £30 back then :p

i passed first time but got 2 minors classed as Hesistation.

And all it was - was that a lorry was flying down a slim road, so i gave him way.

similiar happend later on.

omg that so stupid, my cousin failed last week for waiting too long for a truck to pull out on a narrow street, where as i guessing if she sped up to get infront of him she would of failed too, i passed but i did so many stupid things even i was shocked i passed.

Got mine at liek 9am this wednesday but jsut checked weather and tis raining and packed with traffic :-( so.......
Btw as im taking it in the morning would i have a better chance of passing due to their quotas?

The joke is i paid £141 for my test

£80 was for 1.5 hour lessons before and use of car and then the rest im guessing is for the test and booking of it by my instructor

Sounded ridiculous when i was quoted it but i dunno is it the norm price now?

Hmm bad luck maybe just an awkward examiner, if its wet then yes i would of done same as you and dropped back to allow more stopping distance, and to drop back you have to drop your speed a touch for a bit!!! Very petty imo.
