Just had a phone call from "online pc care" who told me my pc is infected with a deadly virus and they need me to let them access the pc to remove it.

The bloke was indian and it was hard to understand him....

hahahahahaha brightened up my day

I hope you asked them how they identified your PC as being infected.
Oh, and also how they then got your contact details.

This is not a laughing matter.
Same happened to me and I had to give my bank details, NI number and pin number otherwise my MAC was going to explode. Just gave them the details in time apparently.

It must be true because my MAC didn't explode.

You need to string these guys on as much as you can. It's better if you start mimicking their accent too.

It;s a brand new pc bought by my dad from comet at the weekend, so could be linked to that? He got the credit option.
I couldn't be arsed to string them on, but next time I will... It was funny as he was trying to use technical terms from a sheet and was failing. He was like "your pc is infected with a deadly virus in the head disk drive, and we would need to go into your pc to remove it"... I was pissing myself at it...

Unfortunately not everyone will see it as a funny matter and will take it seriously

It is a serious thing as the vulnerable out there will fall for it.

Still mimicking call centre employees accents is much fun. I spent many an hour talking in an irish accent to Apple staff and in an Indian one to Dell.

It's things like this that make me wish I had a landline phone connected in my house.

I never get fun calls like that, all we get is a recorded voice saying we've won a holiday, and it's not half as much fun talking back to a recording.

for any sales call just do what seinfeld does.
