My Xbox 360 Elite seems to be having problems reading Halo 3.After the intro when the game is about to load it just stops reading the disc & keep getting message "disc reading error, clean disc, restart console, visit xbox 360 support"
I have tried cleaning it many times but it stops on the same spot everytime.I took it back to the shop i got it from & after he tried it on his shop console it worked fine:? no problems & game loaded perfect so no refund. Is there something i am missing or a patch or update that i need to do? Has anyone else had this problem? When i searched it on google there was someone else with the same problem but no cure.:-( Can anyone help:thumbsup:

Tried several times today again after some more cleaning of the disc but still stops loading after the intro.Have emailed Xbox support to see what they have to say & probably will go into Gamestation & ask them what to do or if they know of any issues.

If you tell gamestation it keeps turning itself off every now and again [little white lie] - They should exchange it. If they test it, tell them it doesnt do it everytime, but it does it when your playing gfames which is annoying.

Don't see why he needs to tell a white lie, there's something clearly not right with the console if the disc is reading fine in other machines.

Gamestation might check it with another disc and say "its fine"

whereas if theres a random faul with it resetting they really have no choice.

I had a similar problem with my premium xbox 360 and Halo 3 CE , Because it's CE I was able to send it back to Microsoft free of charge and got it replaced, the new copy works fine.

Is this specific to any 360 consoles/batch numbers or manufac dates as i asked the chap at the shop of any known problems & he said not that he knew of.Sorry to sound daft but how do i tell if my Halo copy is CE.

How long did it take to receive your replacement copy?

After searching for nearly 2 hours on the xbox forum site (even the xbox site is c**p)have found quite a few who have had "disc unreadable errors":-( some with Halo 3 and doesn't look like they have any cures. Some drives have gone on to completly stop reading discs. Will call Xbox Customer Service & see what they come out with but very annoyed as have a copy of Halo 3 which i can't play.:x
