SUPERMARKETS

TESCO
Thus far, I've checked around and Tesco currently have it priced at £37.97 in-store. This is the same price as Morrisons. £28 if you buy it with 2100 Microsoft Points at Tesco.

ASDA
However, a clerk in ASDA informed me (probably against her regulations, based on how confused she was looking through the computer) that the standard edition is penned in at £34.94, as I recall. To date this is the cheapest I've found it.

MORRISONS
Aparently going to be 37.99 on its own like Tesco.

GAME STORES

GAMESTATION
Gamestation have it priced at £37.99 as a competitive price point, but have a trade-in deal going; bring in any two XBox 360 games (and I mean, any) and get an extra £5 trade-in credit. My tip? Gamestation are selling Rockstar's Table Tennis and a few Pro Evo titles at 98p. Purchase two, and trade them in on the day, and save another £3.

As I am aware, GAME have a comparable deal going, being under the same parent company.

HMV
Currently HMV have it priced at standard RRP of £39.99, but they're giving away a free 800MS point card with each pre-ordered copy. Moreover, they have an excellent trade-in deal if you have either Red Dead Redemption, Hawx 2 or Mafia 2 to trade in against it; bring in one of those games and you'll get Halo Reach for £14.99 (meaning £25 trade in credit for the above titles). Please be aware HMV require a £5 deposit for preorders whereas GAME and Gamestation do not; this is obviously taken off the price of the game when you purchase it on launch.

ARGOS
So far Argos still have £39.99 on their system with no other incentives.

The points for me at Tesco as I still quite like RDR and it's a game I'd like to keep for the future.
Plus there's a few good XBLA titles coming out, Sonic 4, Hydrophobia and others plus loads out at the mo.

If Morrisons are the cheaper than Tesco though I'll go there.

Hmm... £25 then i might as well but will these supermarkets stock up at midnight and sell it?

I bet if i called them they would be clueless as usual
#18
Supermarkets don't alter their prices untill release day (in general anyway) as the computers arent updated.

So if you call and ask they will quote the stock rrp they would usually sell at.

Morissons won't open for midnight launch and I don't think they have any 24hr stores but my nearest opens at 8 if you go to Morrisons website and use store locator you can get opening times.

I got told by the entertainment "team leader" @ Sainsbury's that this game was going to be a market leading price, I asked her if it was going to be the same price that call of duty was, sadly not the case, it was price around £34.99... I'm guessing ASDA caught wind of their price and knocked 5p off it
#21
From the xbox forums, In the Sun theres adverts saying that tesco are selling at £28 when you buy points or £37 on its own. Also Asda/ Morrisons are selling at £37
#22
The official launch of Halo Reach is mere hours away - but the price war has already begun.

Supermarket chains Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's have kicked off a fierce pricing war by not only offering the game at rock bottom prices - but also advertising heavily in UK national newspapers this morning.

Sainsbury's has the stand-alone copy of Halo Reach for £34.99.

Meanwhile, Tesco is offering Reach for £37.70. However, as we reported last night, you can pick up the game for £28 when bought with an Xbox Live 2100 Points Card, which is priced at £16.71 (RRP £17.50).

Asda is selling Reach for £37.47, with an exclusive Halo Reach hoodie available for £9 when purchased with the game.

So here's the list of prices at the moment

Tesco: £37.97 on it's own or about £45 with 2100 MSP
Asda: £37.47 plus chance to get limited edition Halo Hoody for £9
Sainsbury's: £34.99 on it's own, no other offers.
Morrisons: Unconfirmed likely to be between 34.99 and 37.99 (they will price match)
#23
Morrisons is 34.99 until sunday,

theres an ad in th Daily Record confirming this
#24
Nothing as big as were hoping but it's always COD and Fifa which are the ones which are cut as they are annual releases.
#25
HMV are selling it for £40 with 800 points however they will give you £25 for Red Dead so its £15
#26
so no major deals :(
#27
Can't believe at least one of them is not undercutting the others even at £30 or something.
banned#28
spoke to my mate who is a manager of one of the Tesco stores and no deals at all ..poop
#29
there will be no proper deals on this due to this game being console specific.
Call of duty modern warfare 2 was available on both ps3 and xbox 360, this would generate alot more revenue enabling the supermarkets to drop the price considerably.
As this game is only on 360 the supermarkets will not have high enough margins to push a decent price war.

#31
There some good deals out there however only for some. Im gunna go HMV tonight and get Halo Reach for £15 with 800 Points when i trade in Red Dead tehee

Morrisons is still scanning at £34.99, managed to have a peek in the cupboard as he got a game out and there was only about £20 in there.

Seems like its 34.99 tmrw then
#33
Really interested to see if Morrison's comes out of nowhere and slashes this to £30!
#34
I think the HMV deal is a decent price with the points for a extra couple of pounds which i posted then it went to minus 95 lol
#35
Someone has tweeted this morning that morrisons is selling for £35. No photographic evidence but it's not looking optimistic for an epic MW2 price battle
#36
Just been to my local Tesco who haven't had any points delievered to them so was a pointless excurssion may just head to Morrisons, will keep a look out at the other Tesco near me.

Out of curiosity my local Tesco removed the poster so it just read on the ticket Free Xbox Live points when you buy Halo Reach? So is it £37 all in?
#37
Total price. £37.70. They didnt have the points in stock so get the manager to write on the recept that i will pick them up at a later date.
#38
2100 points are worth about 17-18 quid. So that makes the game 20 quid!

I got one copy at 7am and another just now 9:15am. Hayes (Bulls Bridge) tesco is out of stock.
#39
Just got this deal now. Just to confirm it isn't £37.70 for Reach and 2100 points. Although with a sign like the above you could possibly get away with arguing that.

The deal is £28 Halo Reach when you purchase a 2100 point card too. This is how it comes out on the receipt and I believe there is a deal floating around about this.

//edit

Sorry got it wrong, The points card is priced very fairly had to double check the receipt.

There seems to be 2 deals on at tescos... The one that was in the paper... Halo Reach for £28 when you buy 2100 points. ( I think they are about £17) so the total about £45

And the one that I got.. Halo Reach and 2100 points for £37.70!

I never seem to get the better deals but this time I got it..
