Hammersmith Apollo - easy to park?

Im going to the hammersmith apollo on friday and would prefer to drive as its only an hr away.

Does anyone here have experience of the area, and know if its possibly/easy to park either at the venue, or nearby? I can get there early (from 3pm) if it makes it much easier to get a space.

Im weighing up whether to get the train (£37 for 2ppl, 2hrs travel each way) or to drive there (£15 petrol, 1hr each way).

If parking is available, is it expensive?

Thanks in advance!

Bit of a nightmare from memory although it was a few years ago. Here is the ticketmaster advice :

Thanks for the link darren - seems the local car park is worthwhile at £1.60 for up to 4 hrs

yes i think so - especially when you consider prices elsewhere in London.

It takes one hour, when you driving?

Snare has a point. It can take an hour from Heathrow Airport to Hammersmith on a Friday afternoon!

didnt really think about the traffic - is it always terrible, or would it be much better if i arrived a bit early, say 3pm?

Traffic can be very variable. Busy around M25 from Friday lunchtime on usually. I only live about 15 miles from Hammersmith but wouldn't consider driving there till after 7 in evening - even then it can be busy. Where are you coming from? A lot depends what route you need to take to get there.

Nightmare traffic from my past experience seeing Chris Rock.

We are catching train up Friday......to see Russell ?

Thankfully, I hardly touch the M25 - i could even avoid it if needs be. I'll be coming in from high wycombe(west)

Yeah thats the one!

Do you know what time the performance starts? Online times state 6.30, but im unsure whether this is instead the door opening time.

I dont yet have the tickets, so cant see what they say!

Would also be handy to know when its expected to end.....

M40/A40 shouldn't be too bad. The last bit down through Shepherd's Bush (I imagine) may take a while. Probably 30/45 minutes at worst - could be a bit quicker if you're lucky.

Doors at 6:30pm
Russell on at 8pm so with breaks should be finished by 10pm,

We're coming from Bristol so aiming to get last Paddington train home.....fingers crossed, but station only a couple of stops from Hammersmith
