Guys,

As I am off on hols next week with hand luggage only I am wondering what is ok to take on the plane.
My main concern is my electric shaver and a tub of dax wax!!! Does anyone know about these?

Thanks

Passengers will be allowed to take liquids, gels and pastes of 100mls or less in their hand baggage.

These items must be contained within a small, transparent re-sealable plastic bag, which will have to be removed from their hand baggage and x-rayed separately.

The new rules stipulate that the plastic bag must not exceed one litre capacity per passenger - that’s around half the size of a standard A4 piece of paper and it must be sealable.

The bag can contain two or more items of less than 100mls/100g each but must not be cluttered to allow security officers to carry out thorough checks.

Liquids include:

Water and other drinks, soups, syrups

Creams, lotions and oils

Perfumes

Lipsticks

Sprays

Gels, including hair and shower gels

Contents of pressurised containers, including shaving foam, other foams and deodorants

Pastes, including toothpaste

Liquid-solid mixtures

Mascara

Any other item of a similar consistency.

If you are in doubt on any of the liquid, gels or pastes restrictions then pack them into your suitcase when you check-in your hold luggage.

Large electrical items / Laptops

Laptops and other complex items of electrical equipment have to be removed from hand luggage and screened separately.

Medicines and Baby Foods

Passengers will also be allowed to carry in their hand luggage medicines and dietary requirements including baby foods, for use during the flight.

Please note that; you may be asked for proof that these items are needed.

Parents WILL be asked to sample baby milk and food and also those people with dietary requirements (these can be any size).

Passengers will be able to buy liquids including drinks and perfumes either in an EU airport shop after security control, or on board an aircraft operated by an EU airline.

If they are sold in a special sealed bag, passengers must not open them before they are screened otherwise the contents may be confiscated at the security checkpoint.

the problem is I am not taking checked in luggage and I really need my dax wax.

Could I perhaps take some out of the tub and put it in a smaller tub as opposed to taking the full tub?

i always chuck anything like that in my suitcase, cant be arsed with faffing about with all that crap

im with you sassie but I just really need my dax wax, sounds a bit odd but as I am starting to thin on top dax is the only stuff that sorts it out!

Am I right in assuming that an electric shaver is allowed?

sorry didnt see ya post about no luggage, i always thought electricals had to go in suitcases, didnt your flight receipt show what can be carried

reading that above it says 100g, so if I took some out and put it in another tub and it weighs less that 100g then surely thats fine?

Can you get a tub which is 100ml or less? I thought most of the tins were only 99g anyway, so there shouldn't be a problem and you could leave your bigger tub at home maybe.

well the tin say 99g and I have used some, I just weighted it and it weighs 125g

Hmm, I reckon that the 100g they refer to is the product weight, not the packaging. A bottle of perfume which is 30ml usually weights quite a lot but the liquid inside is a lot less. I reckon as long as it says 99g on the tin you should be ok as I doubt they will weigh them anyway. Such a pain though.

it is a complete nuisance, due to me balding I dont need a lot of shampoo so I will use what is supplied in the hotel!:-D

So you put your phone in your suitcase.... What a silly comment.

In my hand luggage I had my laptop, phone, camera, ipod, memory cards, all no problems.
