You need to initialise - Go to control panel (make sure you're in icon view), then go to administrative tools, and computer management, in there, go to Disk Management (or whatever its called) on the left - find the drive in the big bars at the bottom, it'll say "Unallocated (sizeGb)", right click and choose either Create Partition, Format, or Initialise - i can't remember exactly what its called :P

I got a question once you buy a harddrive to replace your old one? Does it need anything special or do you just plug it in and install windows?

Is it PATA? or SATA?

If its PATA, set the jumper to secondary and make sure your old (original) Hard drive is set to Primary, as it should already be anyway.

Any?

New Hard drives come set as default to primary, so in effect, its plug and play.

I however have 2 hard drives, so I added one on and used a partiion manager to run 3 seperate operating systems.

Sata doesn't have master and slave, just plug, format and go.

Mine is ATA btw.
