you never get full amountm of space i got 400gb but only 360 available to use

320gb=290gb

320 GB in sales is 320 000 000 000 bytes... 1024 bytes = 1 KB, 1024 KB = MB, 1024 MB = 1 GB. So, divide 320 000 000 000 by (1024x1024x1024) and you get 298.02 GB

also partition and drivers take up space

the drive shows as 455GB which is fines, is reporting im using 122GB of space out of the 455Gb but i only add up all folders and files to around 53GB so im missing quite a chunk of space somewhere?;-)

How are you adding up the amounts? You should only need to go into My Computer and right-click your C drive and choose 'properties'. At top level this is the most accurate way of telling what's being used.

Im doing it by selecting all the folders in the root of the C drive, I can't see how it can be using that much space, only had the pc couple of months and have only put music and pictures on it!

As always I'm going to recommend Spacemonger:

http://www.sixty-five.cc/sm/v1x.php

This maps out your drive space visually and will show you exactly where it all is.
