Hi people just wanted out if anyone knows how to keep hard drives in sync. I already have 500gb hard drive but am worried in case it fails and wanted to buy another hard drive as backup but is there a way to keep both hard drives in sync. The hard drive i have now is a network hard drive and the other one i want to buy will be just connected to my desktop. Many thanks.

synctoy will do what you need: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=E0FC1154-C975-4814-9649-CCE41AF06EB7&displaylang=en

two internal HDD's in RAID formation is usually the best way to protect data from drive failure, but I don't think you can RAID internal and networked drives without a serious performance hit.

I use Acronis True Image:

to back up data from my hard drives to an external drive, it backs up everything including operating system, programmes and data.

Snyctoy will do what you need, RAID requires the correct hardware and is not for external drives.

Try Karens Replicator its free application. I use it to copy all my media onto an external 500gb
