I know it seams strange a guy asking about this sort of thing but don't worry people it NOT for me, its for my OH she has had depression for a few years & during that time she never used make up etc but now she is over her depression she wants to make a bit more of a effort with her appearance etc. which i don't mind at all.

Its her bday next week & she has seen a add on a shopping channel for Sheer cover http://www.sheercover.co.uk/ an she has told me she would like it, an i think she likes the idea of it being all Mineral based ( well they claim it is)

The introduction kit is £30 which for a one off for her bday i dont mind paying but to carry on getting a supply of it, its £20 per month.

Now am i being a typically guy here & thinking OMG that is a lot of money just for some make up every month. What i would like to know does this stuff actually do what is claims to do.

Also as this is a deal's site & i guess im just being a normal guy here thinking of my pocket lol, is there another make that mineral based that's also cheaper that any of you lovely ladies would recommend please?

Cheers

Hi, i've used the mineral foundation before and there are lots of good ones that are no where near as expensive as that - brands such as L'oreal, Revlon, Max Factor are all just as good, heres a link to some on sale @ boots to give you an idea, and the Revlon currently have a 3 for 2 offer on at the mo too http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CatalogSearchResultView?storeId=10052&catalogId=11051&langId=-1&pageSize=12&beginIndex=0&sType=SimpleSearch&resultCatEntryType=2&searchTerm=mineral+foundation hope that helps! :)

Hi I bought some mineral foundation from wet and wild cosmetics when they had a 99p sale on everything a while back, I wasn't expecting much from it really but it is amazing! I think its usual rrp is around £3.50, it really is fabulous stuff http://www.wnwbeauty.co.uk/face/ultimateminerals.html

L'Oreal is great but hey maybe get the one off the advert since it is her birthday, she will no doubt think it is too expensive to get every month and start experimenting with makeup like she used to anyway.

Why dont you ask at Boots or Debenhams if you have one near you - the girls there are trained to find the right one for your skin colour and type and will provide a makeover for a fee - usually about £10 I think. and then you usually get a discount if you buy some products. might be nice to have a bit of professional advice and a mini pamper in the circumstances. I think id pick boots over debenhams as Boots do the cheaper ranges too

Thats a very good idea, our local boots dont do it but if i take her in to town for the day they do it in boots in there.
