I was thinking about going tomorrow however it would be the first time that i would have been in the winter so please can anyone tell me if its easier or harder to catch. Obviously it depends on the venue however please compare it to your results in the summer.

Also, will the carp take the same bait or do they prefer other baits?

Any information will be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

as its been rather cold at the moment the majority of lake / pond fish will be at the bottom of the body of water, it can be harder to catch them because of this. They are down there but are much less active and therefore much less hungry. I would wait for the summer rather than freezing your nuts off.

If you do end up going use a swimfeeder rig.

Thanks for your advice.

I think I may go and have a look tomorrow and see. If it looks good, I will go on monday but I doubt it I will after hearing what you've said. Its so annoying because i really want to go :(

The bonus for me, im a member to quite a few venus. One of the venue is mostly shallow (2 foot deep in most spots), so if the carp if moving around I should spot them although there are only about 15 carp. There quite small though, they average about 15lb and go to 25lb.

The hard enough to catch without the weather being bad. I've been about 15 times and caught 1 carp that was 17lb and lost 1 that was a 20lb+ (It was about 1 foot from the landing net :( ). Also had 2 bream about 4lb.
