It's a cold, it'll go eventually.

yep i had it too. Stayed in bed watching iplayer. Take parcetemol to bring the temperature down and drink lots of water. Remember that lemsips have parcetemol in too so watch how much you take!

darn things.
exact same symptoms as you as well. woke up xmas eve morning with my chest on fire. was not too bad during the day, then in the evening it hurt to move my joints.
xmas day couldnt breathe then as had moved up into my head as well.
just about beginning to wear off now so has been 4 days although head still feels as though it has been covered with a pillow.
i had been taking plenty of 'cold and flu remedies (the ones with paracetamol, phenylephrine and caffeine in) and also ibuprofen. helped to take the edge off it.

get well soon

Nearly every one of my friends and immediate family has picked up the flu over the past month and a bit. I've not, though. I'm invincible.

I seem to have picked up uncontrollable sneezing with runny nose, hurting eyes, dizziness standing up and rubbish throat - why do I always get these when I'm not in work and in my holiday time?

Yes, my husband has had the 'stronger' strain which involves lying on the couch drinking lemsip

I went to a funeral on the 15th, had a bit of an earache and felt a bit odd on the plane on the way there, the next morning my face had all swollen up and I was incredibly ill. By the time I got home the next day I felt I was dying. Stayed in bed until the 21st, got up to go and get Christmas groceries, and that wiped me out. Today is the first full day I Have been able to stay out of bed and watch tv. I've had sore throat, wheezy chest and a bad cough, I've felt sick to the stomach and so shaky. I've lost quite a bit of weight although I did keep myself going with chocolate when I was in bed, it was the only thing I could eat that didn't irritate my mouth as I had ulcers everywhere. Being ill sux, hope you don't get it as bad as I did x

i hope everyone else recovers soon x

Influenza, commonly known as the flu, is an infectious disease of birds and mammals caused by RNA viruses of the family Orthomyxoviridae (the influenza viruses). The name influenza comes from the Italian: influenza, meaning "influence", (Latin: influentia). In humans, common symptoms of the disease are chills and fever, pharyngitis, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort
