Ive just purchsed the one direct from DVLA.
Its says they are now sending me a V750 Certificate of Entitlement but I dont know what to do next?

Do I take the documents to a DVLA place and they make the plate.
Or do i take it to my any localshop that makes them?

Also how do i transfer it to my car...

The website is slightly confusing

take your entitlement to local place that makes them - they will record and make you a set of plates
DVLA do not supply or make plates
you will need the V750 your mot and tax to take to DVLA to be amended and your insurance for your new reg number

if memory servesme right, you need to go to dvla to register the new plate on your car. Then when you have the new doc showing the new plate with your car, you can then get the plates made up - i went to Halfords.

You take the Certificate to a shop like Halfords and get new plates made, then take the Certificate and your old log book and Tax disc to your local DVLA and they will issue you with new documentation and a new Tax Disc. Then you can legally change over the plates.

Oh and don't forget to inform your insurance.

as above, dead simple just done it. Took all of an hour to sort docs and plate, I really thought it was going to be much harder.

So let me get this straight.

I need to get the plates made up, Just take the documents i receive from the DVLA to local plate shop.

Then go to DVLA and change the documents over and then i can put the plates on.

Then ring my insurance before i drive with them on?

How long did it take for the documents to come

You can post the documents to the DVLA or take them. Last time I took them and got the paperwork sorted to get the plates made up straight away, but this week I went all the way there and they wouldn't do it there and then, said to wait until I get the paperwork back through the post. 7 working days. Once you've got your paperwork, MOT and Tax reregistered, you just take the note of authority to a proper plates place and get them made up, stick them on, job done. Then look forward to doing it all again when you sell the car. Pain in the backside if you ask me, but once you've got those plates, you'll not want to lose them! You will need to tell your insurers, but the premium shouldn't go up, there may be an admin fee though, depends on your insurer.
