If its a quid or so to text your answer in or dial the number why would they let a free web entry win?

And another thing that really bugs me. 'Entries made after the closing date wont be counted but MAY still be charged'. WHY, FFS? Why can't they just close the line?

Anyway, I was under the impression that all these 'raffles' had been outlawed when all the fiddling was uncovered a while ago?

I thought that they had removed the instant win part of it, you used to find out same day, now you have to wait, but I have spotted a few with postal entries, where the postal entry closing date was a couple of days after the prize was announced.

Grr!

What difference does it make who wins?
Would you even know if the winner was a web entry person or not?

I imagine it is to know if its worthwhile doing the free web entry or not.

i too have often wondered about this.
I always enter them on the competition section of this site but alas no win yet, but I will keep entering (for free)

So, are you saying that if no-one replies saying they have won, then it's not worth doing? :?

No - but surely the paying customers must take precendent?

if 100% of all entrants on these 'raffles' used the free web entry route, there would be no more competitions

Wouldn't be surprised if they just chucked out some of / all the web entries and only drew names of those who phoned in.

Then that would break the cometition rules.
Everyone who enters must have an equal chance of winning.

does anyone know anyone who's ever won?! haha

I've won an Audi TT before...the guy said I entered a competition for it, I knew it must be some sort of con, so I went along with it giving him false details and then about an hour later he phoned me back to say that they tried taking the £100 delivery fee from my bank but there was an error. I calmly said what £100 delivery charge I was not warned about that, he stated it was in the letter I had received, I told him I never received a letter and that their company rung me.

He said oh ok well are you happy to go ahead with this as you have an Audi TT waiting, I said ok gave him more wrong details...phoned back again within 30mins this time, and he said it still isn't working could you take a photo of your card and email it to me! :w00t:

I said I would...and sent him a photo of something inapproiate...to which he still had the audacity to phone me back and say "I don't think that was meant for me." I said oh yes it was, he said but its a rude picture, I said I know and that is what I think of you! :p

He slammed the phone down and I reported the supposed company to trading standards. :-D

'Jumpingphil' is correct here as EVERYONE has equal rights, NOONE should take "precedent" as moronic 'Damnstudents' suggests. Anyway, does anyone KNOW whether the winners and losers are monitored to keep a record of how, who entered where?

I'm so glad you joined and cleared that up. I've been wondering for nearly 4 years whether or not Phil was right.
