Was going to buy this for my son also, but wasn't sure.

He's 3 and we ended up going with this one:

He seems happy with it. lol

They have also got this in ELC's catalogue, may be you could use the 20% code on it

I thought it was really cool but my son hasn't got room for it and already has a Bob the Builder set

Hope this helps in some way

Here it is

I ordered the Playmobil pirates castle from Boots but whilst awaiting delivery I happened to stumble upon the Playmobil 'The Rock' castle (which I REALLY wanted to get but not for the £69.99 it costs) reduced to £39.99 in Toys R Us. Then because the box has a small tear in it they gave it to me for £29!

It cost me more than that to kit it out and took the best part of the day to put together but it is well cool!

doubt i will be passing your way in the near future though
i had a workbench for my other son he never bothered with it so i gave it away, typically my 3 year old has gone mad on tools now
he loves the realistic tools, may just buy him a tool kit/box if i can find one £80 is alot of money on a toy

My son will be 4 in December. He does like it but does seem to need a bit of guidance in how to use the pieces, like how the knights would act and stuff - he does still play with it how he sees fit but plays more constructively with it when playing with his 6yo sister.

If I had to pay full price I would have stayed with the pirate castle so that I could add to it by buying the gallion ship later and so on, or for a knights castle I would have gone with the ELC one because I saw it in the shop and it looks wicked. Was going to order it from ELC online but it wouldn't let me use the 20% discount code because you get a free figure set with the castle which counts as an offer itself.

Your 3yo will need help with it and will need watching if he is likely to put things in his mouth because there are LOTS of little pieces, another thing which would sway me more toward the ELC wooden one.

My son does love his 4yo+ meccano set I got him from Tesco Direct (orange box) and his Lego set - I would say my son plays with them more, though again needs helps to make anything recognisable :giggle:e

Hope this helps.

Definitely dont get anything Playmobil if you have a baby in the house.

I tried phoning ELC about the castle but they wouldn't help at all, just said the same thing at the website
