has anyone moved from a PS3 to Xbox360..?

not that I am unhappy with the PS3, it is a great console, the reason I got a PS3 at first was because I kept having 360's break on me and in the end it wound me up that Game offered me a refund so I just said give me a PS3..

anyways I am missing various marketplace games and Crackdown, and games have come down so much, and with the more stable Elite I have been pondering on the idea of going back to a 360...has anyone done this? are you now missing the PS3?

cheers

I have both, I use the 360 for games and the PS3 for Blu Ray!

What is it that you are unhappy about with the ps3?

The lack of decent games and a decent multi player experience would be the first things that come to mind.

I've got a 360, and eventually wanted to get a ps3, if they're that bad, I wont bother.

I love my 360 elite, it hasn't crashed once since I've had it, xbox live is awesome, I can download hi-def movies, loads of arcade games, old xbox games, demo's, music etc plus the amount of quality games available and due out this year is brilliant. I'd never move to a ps3, it's just really a blu-ray player with a couple of games, there will be an external blu-ray player for the 360 by the end of the year.

i went from 360 rto ps3 there are lots of grat ps3 games coming out soon....

apparently the new 360's still have around a 10% failure rate

Think its going to be different for every person.

Personally the qualiy of games both the back catalogue and the past few months for the 360 are better than anything the PS3 can offer for me.

However longer term I'd buy a PS3. Its a amazing piece of technology and the blue ray is obviously winning the DVD format war so for that along its got value, the fact that it go on the Internet etc.. is a added bonus.

If I had both and a game was released on both I'd probs buy it for the xBox. I mean I got COD4 for £25, PES 08 for £20, Half Life for £18 all new!! I have too many games to play.

If you swap without taking a finacial hit/loss I'd get a 360, for me the PS3 will be amazing but when it gets to that point (in 12-18 months) it will be cheaper as technology always is...

That's been the case for a long time hasn't it, soon seems to be a verrrry long time whereas the 360 has lots of great games already

cheers all, I think I have worked out a win win solution, all the ps3 games I have that I am not fussed about adds to £211 trade at CEX which will get me a Pro/Premium console or ill put the money towards it and get an Elite, not sure what yet, you get 12 months warranty so I am not too fussed. anyways that leaves me with a PS3 with 6 retail games and 5 downloaded so I will have the best pf both.

I have also just checked that I can redownload my Xbox Marketplace games that I had bought, and I can, and I have 12 of them, so all is looking good[/ fingers xxxx'd]

Nice one that sounds like what I would do. That way you wont make a loss on a console you will buy again in the future!

I use Cex sometimes but also find blockbuster do some good trade values

I have both a 360 and a PS3, mainly picked up the PS3 60GB before they disappeared. As a gaming console I much prefer the 360 at the moment as there's a good range of games available and many of them quite cheap. There's not that much of interest out for the PS3 right now.

thats what I am seeing, so many 360 games are well cheap, and when you look at e cross platform game it is always cheaper on 360..

as mentioned above I have now worked out a way to have both now so im buzzing, I get to keep my fave PS3 games, blu rays and console and still get a 360 with the PS3 games I am not fussed about.

Haha, except by the end of this year the PS3 will definitely have LittleBigPlanet, MGS4, Gran Turismo 5, Buzz, Haze, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 and Home. FFXIII will be out either this year or next year and God of War 3 will be out next year.

I know a few people that have gone from the 360 to PS3 but none that have gone the other way, with their reasons being either that there aren't that many upcoming 360 games that they're looking forward to, as most of the 360's big titles have come out already, whereas there are quite a few for the PS3, and some of them had their 360 die twice or three times on them and they just wanted a change.
#17
dont think anyone has moved from ps3 to 360. mainly because most games which are coming out will be either exclusive to ps3 or multiplatform.
#18
There no point getting a 360, all their best games have been released. There is not mush to look forward to (exclusives) as a 360 owner.

I can only think of Gears 2 and Alan Wake that I would want to play.

Fable 2 anyone?

The fan/disc drive on my xbox is annoying and loud. However on my brothers xbox i have to put my ear up to the console to hear the fan /disc.

I don't believe i've seen a PS3 league on HUKD.

People say whats the point in achievements, well if you spend like 20 hours playing a game and you finish, you'll have something to show for it. It might be just some digits but its better then getting nothing.

Although i heard PS3 could be bringing out some kind of trophy system
#24
yh theres gona be a trophy system in home. but i dnt care i play the game to have fun not show of about it.
#25
I love my PS3, I wouldn't change it for an X-Box 360 anyday. PSN keeps getting better and better, and soon we are getting PlayTV. Since I have a 60gb HDD I can save loads of TV shows

I like achievements if it's something reasonable - dull ones like play 10,000,000 games I'm not fussed about (PD:Z) but winning a race with a 1:2 with both cars reversing over the winning line (PGR4) are ones that I want to try and get. It's good to have an incentive to go back and get some more out of a game. However I'm not bothered about the total points, I wouldn't buy a game just because it's easy to get achievement points.

Highly recommend Rez HD which has just come out Live, it was a superb game on the Dreamcast/PS2 and it works even better in HD as the shapes are so smooth and bright.

I had a 360 launch console and got the 3 red lights, took it back and got a new one, then the same happened to the next so sent it to MS for repair, then when I got it back sold it and waited and waited for a PS3. For reliability alone I would not go back, if they fix it properly then I might pick one up cheap but that looks like a fair way down the line to me.

The 360 is a very good media player now than when I had one, with Divx been introduced and Marketplace downloads, if you're a person who wants to download HD movies etc then an Elite if definately the way to go. Then again the PS3 now also plays Divx and supports older files than the 360, which is good as my South Park's, Family Guy's etc would not play on a 360 but then fit on my PS3 HD and play a treat.

360 achievements are flawed - people playing childrens games just to get 1000 points, what's the point in having them at all if people do that?! The PS3 has no kind of system as yet, but then even when they do it will still be abused with people playing easy PS3 games. Maybe a better system would be - Hours spent on the game or % of the game completed, rather than do a specified task like a puppet.

Personally I dont know what people mean when they say "There's no games", there is, also you'll find that because they are not "doubled up" - I.E 2 of the same games cover side by side, or even in blocks of 4 on store shelves in Game/HMV etc that the perception is of no games as there is hardly huge displays. Often PS3 games only have 1 of each on the shelf instead of 4 giving a perception of "no games" when infact the PS3 games display is condensed, usually due to lack of shop space. Even the Wii suffers from this, but I think Nintendo under shipping quantities of games has a huge influence on stores not receiving many of certain games - so therefore unwilling to advertise games that the might not be able to cover pre ordered stock.

I'm happy with the PS3 for the following:

Divx - Plays older files than 360

Free online - Yes it's not as good but it's free and the difference between what Sony offer and what MS offer is not worth £30-40 in membership. Also it means that I don't force myself to play online all the time so I "can get my moneys worth"

Online - Is it necessary to have leaderboards here and there and stats galore, whats wrong with playing against each other and having the odd leaderboard, what is the need to chat during a game, for me call of Duty 4, Warhawk, UT3, PES 2008 have all the online options I'll ever want.

The little things like didnt have to buy an extra battery pack but with the 360 you do, built in wireless, card ports (60GB only) - this in a way is Sonys downfall, they should have put it all seperate as the accessories market profit margins are ridiculous - look at PS2 memory cards, 8mb was £20 for years!!

Upgradeable HD, no need to go and buy an overpriced MS HD, put in your own, very good as HD's are only going to get bigger and cheaper.

My arguments are more for the PS3 as I think it's positives are great, there is not a lack of games, on my HD Ive got 20 demo's, 5 PS1 games, 4 PS3 games and in my collection 12 PS3 games. I think what people really mean is "There is not an abundance of 20/30 games that I would buy if I had the money" (Cue the Ive got loads of money and I could buy them all remark!)

One thing I am envious of you 360 owners is PGR4, I loved PGR3 and back to the Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast, Gran Turismo just doesnt have what PGR series gives.

I too love the PGR/MSR series, and look forward to playing it (with a different name MSR>PGR>???) on the PS3 as Activision have bought Bizzare Creations. :)

Get a ps3 when those games are actually released, because we all know how games get delayed nowadays

Thats the point to me.

The PS3 may have some great games coming in the coming months but they are not here yet. When they are released they will be more expensive than a comparative game on the 360 based on the laws of supply & demand. PS3 owners are all waiting on the good games whereas 360 have loads to choose from.

The 360 lacks the hardware that the PS3 has and Microsoft even backed the wrong DVD (BlueRay is killing HD).

I brought a 360 in October on the basis that I wanted to play games NOW, it had a huge gaming catalogue the likes of which I hadn't played and I have been amazed at the quality of releases and the price I can get games for.. COD4 £25, PGR4 £20, Orange Box £18 e

The PS3 has much more potential than the 360 but potential is something I look for in a employee for my purchases I buy what is good for now.

i went from 360 to ps3 and now im going back coz i dont have a HDTV so im not really getting the full usage out of the expensive 60gb console so im selling it on ebay... 190201366640 and probably get an elite or a premium :) and i must say the announcement of gears 2 at GDC helped sway my decision that is a killer game
