Last week I ordered a game that shipped 1st class. It was posted on Monday and I never received it until Saturday. And again I ordered a game from Shopto on Sunday that was posted out on Monday and I still haven't received it...

Um...you haven't heard about all the strikes then?

i think the companies may also be taking advantage of the strike and taking their time, blaming it on royal mail, i got my new pin with 48 hours of the request

Royal Mail have been on strike off-and-on for weeks now. They keep putting certain sections out one at a time (one day delivery people, one day sorting offices, one day international handlers) to cause maximum disruption.

It's carrying on for at least another week yet.

my sorting office is on an unofficial strike as well today:x :x :x

Yes, Post has been taking forever!

I think apart from the strike, it is also the summer and they use a few more temps. If you have different people delivering, probably the same in sorting offices, so may be taking longer in there too. My lovefilm dvds were taking longer even in periods of no strikes. I have a good mind to ask for compensation on my free discs of 0p.

Pardon my ignorance, but what are they striking for?

feck sake! get some qualifications and get a real job! if you aint happy about your pay then move jobs instead of putting everyone else out, clearly you don't deserve it.

What I have noticed yes its getting slower in ranges, things sent to me 3 weeks ago havent arrived, things sent 2 weeks ago are just arriving now, things sent last week have mostly arrived.

Strange

It is a real job and used to be one that most people took pride in........now however it's not so much the case and the Royal Mail's service on a whole is extremely poor.

All the better for DHL though as they get all my eBay business now. :)

It most likely varies with what part of the country you are in, its slow here, but I think thats because all my mail is sent to Glasgow first, seems to be in batches.

All my big business too, why send something that costs more with RM and takes days to arrive if at all to spend less on a next day delivery!

Ordered item it was posted Sat. 4th arrived today 9th 1st class it sure is snail mail

Im still waiting for mail over a week ago , just hope its not lost or stolen.

What makes me laugh is how may strikes Royal Mail staff have over pay , seriously they expect a pay rise for the poor service they provide?

Mail gets lost and stolen on a daily bases oh yeah we all want a pay rise :x

Trouble is it seems anyone can join Royal Mail these days , even had a friend who worked there who told me one of the workers got caught stealing the mail and he had a criminal record....do Royal mail deserve the name ROYAL? i dont think so.

Maybe they should change the name to Royal Farce

To be honest Royal Mail do take alot of stick and some of it is deserved.

My Bro in Law left RM because of the management. another friend left as a postman because he was fed up with the standard of recruitment - at that time the local LDO took on two postie who could not read English!!!!

However my Postie is as good as gold, we bever have a problem with him.

The UK still have the one of the cheapest postal delivery services in Europe, maybe if we want the best quality ser4vice then we have to pay a bit more....

Two points I have noticed in the last month or so.

I hardly ever get post on a Saturday, but get post every other day - cost cutting by slealth?

Even over the last week or so, most first class has taken best part of a week, but LoveFilm have still been in most cases next day turnaround - very strange for those who know LoveFilm !!!

LOL.........i live 3 miles from the LoveFilm warehouse and they are so slow to deliver........typical.

My mail is taking its time - companies which usually deliver within days are now taking weeks.

I think that it is possible that these companies are using the strikes as an excuse
