I'd like the HD receiver but don't really want to pay for it :) Anyone spoken to them recently to 'cancel'?

Yeah, 1 week ago and they outright said "We can't match o2's offer" (re: internet contract coming to an end)

Their line for keeping me as a customer was "you may be offline for a few days if you change providers". lulz.

Anyone with more tips on dealing with VM do respond! I'm looking for 10mb internet + standard phoneline (don't care about phone/tv) for no more than £18/month. Currently paying £15.50 for 2mb. I have loads of ammunition to use against them as this year's been the worst experience I've had with any ISP. Else I'll just keep calling them until perhaps they offer me something decent.

Best they can offer me for 10mb bb with nothing else is just under £25.

you have nothing to lose....get complaining to them....must be loads of people offloading with the credit crunch......i bought hd tv a couple of years ago...when they had a fallout with sky.
I asked how much for hd box and was told £150......argued and this dropped to £75...i threatened to go to sky and they said i could have it free if i got xl tv package.
I was paying £48 for tv,phone and bband at the time......they said i could pay £54 for new package inluding the hd v plus box.
Due to get it on the sat.....rang on the fri and said i wasn't happy and ended up now paying £44 for life! less than when i started all this.

I like the bband with them and the v plus box is great but you tell them sky has more hd channels.....good luck

lol. They usually DO put notes on your account but nobody cross references them or takes any notice of them. They have probably the worst internal communication of any company I know of - I've spoken to an employee of two there and they themselves tell me it's a complete shambles.

I have probably gigs of notes attached to my account which nobody for months bothered to look at.

Disgraceful company - I want to squeeze every penny from them.

I agree the OP should just call and keep on until they give him what he wants, but be polite, there are a few decent people working there in amoungst some ridiculously bad apples.

I currently pay £30 for
M - TV
L - Phone
XL (20Mb)- BB

£25 for 10Mb is crazy!

Does XL TV give you anything different from the L?

I know their customer services is bad but I've been with them for a year now and the TV, phone and internet haven't lost connection for a moment, I have a static IP and speeds very close to 20Mbps with no caps (that they'd moaned about!)

Seem to be delivering their end of the bargain AFAIC! Something is already going wrong if you NEED to speak to them! :)

You should pay around £15.50 for BB and phone Line rental with talk weekend package.

i'm currently paying £18pm for the 4mb broadband (to be upgraded to 10mb?), free weekend calls and line rental, and the basic tv package. I'm pretty chuffed as BT line rental is £11pm on it's own.

^I'll be using you as my 'friend down the road' who happens to be getting a damn better deal than me when I call them next.

I'd happily pay £18 for that.
