Hats

Does anyone wear one?

The chavs with their baseball caps only really come out at night time round here, so discounting them, there is a real lack of headwear in the Solihull area at present.

Was thinking I might look good in a trilby but don't want to be a pioneer.
Luckily I live in an area full of older people so I might get away with being amongst the first if this starts a trend.

Also, I think I must be getting proper old because I've been looking at estate cars and thinking to myself about how practical they seem.

Its a bold step, kudos to you.

If you want to get ahead wear a hat!

I live in Stratford upon Avon but I'm from Solihull and I wear a hat. Not sure I'll ever get an estate car though.

I am bald, I wear a flat cap to keep my head warm.
I think a trilby is fine if you have a tommy gun in a violin case.
A bobble hat should only be worn when there is snow on the ground.
I'm too old for a beanie/baseball cap.

I tried a stetson on once.

Southampton wasn't ready for a stetson

If you want something even more practical in terms of bootspace grab an hearse, they are pretty cheap and often very well maintained due to the nature of their purpose, not driven hard and low mileage in comparison to an equivalent estate, also cheaper to insure a 2.9 16v vauxhall was quoted at half the price of the equivalent car in a 1.6!
Make good towing cars or weekend/surf campers as a double airbed fits in the back easily.

I wear a baseball cap during the winter on very cold or rainy days just to keep my very short haircut head protected

Shouldn't think anyone would call me a chav though except one or two members of HUKD who have an issue with the English language and using words incorrectly to try to win an argument.

Yes, if it's cold I'll wear a hat. Most of your body heat escapes through your head :)

I am sure that was proven to be just a myth a couple of years ago.

I often wear a hat, to hide my ugly head.

I have this hat:

Haven't worn it out of the house yet, seem like a good idea when I ordered it online :D Hasn't been cold enough to need to yet though, to be fair.

My neighbour has many hats, trilby hats, bowler hats etc. Most of them he has made to go with various suits. He's about 60 odd and he enjoys all the attention he gets from it. I'm not sure that all of it is positive, but I am not sure he can tell the difference.

I wear hats quite a lot.

My hair irritates me and takes a bit of effort to make it look presentable so most of the time out of work/home I'll shove on a cap to avoid using products to make it looks presentable.

I've pretty much worn flat peak baseball caps since my early teens and it is second nature to me now lol.

Looks like some one has unzipped a cushion cover and stuck it on their head.

Yes this is nonsense in fact it was supposed to be 40%-45%
however if I go out out in my full winter togs and forget my hat I'm going to get a very cold head and ears

if you live near chavs, I suspect a trillby will only highlight you as a posh target.

I'm partial to a cap or beanie, but don't think that immediately tags me as a chav. If you're worried about the class divide, maybe a beefeater would be suitable
