Ive got a quote from them for £650 for some old gold rings i havnt used for years. But my question is.. This weight is including some stones that are in the rings. So they take that into account? Or when they recieve the gold do they take the stones out and then weigh it themselfs? Anybody know?

They remove the stones, weigh them and keep the stones on file unless you want them sending back to you for £6 delivery charge.

I see, so why on there online form do they ask for the exact weight of the gold your sending if there going to weigh it there way anyway...?
#3
Well they obviously aint just going to take somebodys word for it, thats also so you have a rough idea what your going to get.

sell it on ebay as scrap metal and you'll get much more, they are giving you a very low amount of money these companies

give it a go with a reserve

they will usually just estimate weight of the stones, and not remove them and weigh them, so they usually over estimate the stone weight and take it off the gold.

personally if i was you id try to remove as many stone yourself and keep them and then weigh and sell the gold.

The price ive been quoted is more than what i would get for the say necklace i have if i was to sell it on. As its a very very nice necklace. Tried to sell it twice before and it doesnt go for much.

I have used Hattons in the past and found they have excellent service and offer very good prices. I received my cheque within 3 days of sending them my gold.

The gold prices fluctuate daily and you will get the price for you gold according to the day which they receive it.

Well got a email and they want me to call there office...

Seems wierd..? or is that normal practice?

They asked me to call because i weighed a set of 9ct gold up at 50.1 grams but they weighed it at 50.3. Excellent service.

£650 in my pocket for gold ive not used in 15 years. Infact i paid less for it then from the shops. So very happy.

Highly recommend
