Had this a couple of years ago. Doctors said go to bed til you feel better, I said I can't with a three year old. His answer? .............. 'Sometimes you just have to ignore your kids!!!'

Was a man, only a man can come out with that!!!

Edit: Take some Paracetemol to regulate your temperature and your head will feel a bit better too.

I have had a nasty cold since the week before Christmas just getting over it now :-(

everyone i know has been bad sometime before or after xmas i have been ill since the week before xmas started with hot and cold spells, bad head, etc etc aching limbs finally was getting better new year and now got full blown cold again, so in all i have been unwell coming up to 4 weeks and getting pretty darn fed up.

It is the same at my work everyone has been or is ill so i guess if you have only just started feeling ill you have been lucky not to have had it before, funny thing is we are struggling to buy an tissues near us as they all seem to have sold out we are on our 10th box since we both have been ill

i have been taking tramadol given to me by my mother in law as i have bad knees anyway and the docs wouldnt give it me as they said the next step up from that is morphine and they would have to run tests etc of which they havent been bothered to do. my mother in law got given it when she had her knees replaced but the thing is its the only thing that takes the aches away thats for about 3 hours anyway.

When i was that age i had to take turns with my other siblings to wash the dishes, you didn't question why,you just did it as you had no choice!

oh my god hun you shouldnt be taking them! your gp is 100% right, i take tramadol and my next change will be to morphine. Tramadol will not bring down your temp or ease the aches and pains only paracetamol will do that, phone your GP and make an appointment to see him asap.
please be careful taking tramadol as they can mask other problems like they did for me when i almost died with pneumonia 2 years ago, this time i knew i had it but my GP said it was a gastro tummy!

if you are no better tomorrow phone your GP hun

i will be careful hun just my doctors never seem to care,my knees have killed for 5 years now but because i am only 26 they never seem to take it seriously does my head in they dont see me when i sit on the floor to do my makeup and then end up in tears trying to get up.

Read carefully and take in what vinyl has written OP, they are 100% correct.

I know you're not well and in a lot of pain but you could seriously harm yourself on Tramadol and you have a young one to think about.
Get back to your GP and be polite and firm.

I sincerely hope you feel much better very soon. :)

They sound completely useless.

What about a taxi?

I think I remember you saying that you lived in Godley

Have a look at this website, it shows 4 doc's less than a mile away:-

Go back and if they don't listen I would seriously change doc's.

We have recently changed doc's and they are great really approachable and always available.

Our's is open until 8pm Monday and Thursday

right off to bed now i will take a couple of solvadol or whatever they are called and lay off the tramadol. the solvadol contains more paracetamol than anything else.
