Have I got a good deal here?

Got last minute spasms on ebay and kept upping my bid in order to win this tv.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&item=250040676565&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&item=250040676565&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

It comes with a dvd player and freeview box and as you can see the total is £122. I know nothing about tv's but wanted a nice big one for my room on the cheap.

Have I got a decent deal or gone too high with my bidding?

Cheers guys and gals :)

Hi
Looks ok, expecially for the price although not an LCD.

But even if it is c###, at least you get a free box of soap powder........:giggle: :giggle:
"Includes all 3 remote controls, leads, plug adaptors and Ariel"

Would be a good deal if you are collecting it.
Most, if not all Couriers do not cover glass for damage, only loss. The items only had ebays Standard Purchase Protection. 'Private auction', why?

You should be OK, his turnover in the past 30 days was nearly £7,000

Let us know how it goes please.:)

Yeah I'm collecting it, told him to leave it all up so I can test it, no gonna walk out drive it all the way home and find out its an A.N.U.S laptop (anyone remember that lol)

I know I'm a lucky boy getting the 'Ariel' included woopee...

Dino - not sure why the private auction, I've never understood that to this day, just makes the seller look dodgy, he sells kites by the looks of things, thats a whole lot of kites for £7,000

Ill report back tomorrow when I have it, if im not busy playing on my xbox that is.

Can you ask him why he made it private? I have never seen the point in it myself.

Looks like you have got a great deal. Nice one.

See, you can get some great deals on ebay as long as you are careful. If I was the seller I'd be gutted. That setup must have been worth at least double what you are paying.

He'd put it in the featured section, with highlight and bold as well so high ebay costs.

Suppose its a good job im not paying him by paypal or he'd really be losing out on fees.

Ill ask him why private if i get a chance.

It'll be a damn site better than the 14" Alba is sit in front of every night, squinting lol

The main reason for putting something private is so that people cannot see what you have bought by looking at your feedback, therefore people that buy suspicious things, or things they would rather other people cannot find out about would prefer this (such as condoms and other adult things for example).

Why he would put a TV as private I do not know though!

Another reason is you cannot tell if the item has had a shill bid put on it. Not in this case by the look of the final price.:giggle:

Hi guys and gals, well im back from my drive halfway across the country. The TV is brilliant, though his measurement of 32" is somewhat way off as its actually 32" from corner to corner, not of the screen, of the whole tv :x

Still I'm not fussed as I've got it home and it only just fits in the space I had cleared for it, so in some strange way I'm glad his measurements were wrong.

Anyway all is working fine, I didnt ask why he put it private, and as Dinosteveus said it wasnt to shill bid :p

The only problem I had all day was with the sat nav I had borrowed, wharra loada sh*t, it tried to send me off in directly the oposite direction I wanted to go in, just to avoid the QEII Bridge, what a joke, would have gone about 50-60 miles out of my way, it was useful in directing me around Salisbury though, but it tried it on on the way home too, sending me via Heathrow... It soon got thrown into the back seat. :-D

Ill be using good ole maps from now on

Apart from being smaller, it still seems like a great deal. Nice one :)
I'm right chuffed for you

Was it a Tomtom?
I have a Mitac Mio 269 and I've never had any problems :-D I'll be selling it on ebay next month and getting the next model up

Nice spot
I hate shill bidders as much as ebook sellers
I think I'll let ebay decide if they are shill bidding

Ah fook, looks like I may have been caught out then, trouble is the guy has moved house today, how convenient! and so I have no way of going back there, I can email him and try and phone him but Ill bet i dont get an answer.

Ill have to just accept it for the time being then maybe sell it on at a little loss with a proper description in a while and upgrade, though next time im taking my tape measure!!!

Cheers for the extra info smashed and dinosteveus, much appreciated, wish I'd paid by paypal now as I could have maybe got some compensation out of him, especially if he's taking £7k a month.

Oh one more thing, the tv controller doesnt work so muggings here is off to buy a universal one tomorrow. He told me he didnt have any batteries for it, which i believed but tested it when i got home and its a gonner.

Another scumbag on ebay then! When will google start up their auction site???

Oh and yes it was TomTom i was using, i selected quickest route, and it decided that was round the top of the m25 to get to junction 13 from junction 28, certainly not quicker!

Maybe my solar reflect windscreen was playing with its little brain.
