Loads of people gouge a letter box shaped bay into a wall or something to house their av stuff for the tv.

Is that option available?

have you got a stereo set up near it? Maybe get some cable trunking and feed it to where your audio set up is?

You can get a bracket type thingy that attaches to the tv wall bracket & hangs down underneath it that has a couple of shelves on :) Or you could just put up a couple of nice shelves?

Do you use HD?

If not you could just hide the sky box away anywhere and use these

another question
i could put the sky box in the cupboard which the fishtank is on but i would have to close cupboard door
isnt there something i can buy that will work a sky plus box in another room etc i was thinking i could have that instead of the box on display
dont know what they are called though
[helper]#10
They are called video senders. Argos have several different ones etc......

The other thing you have to think about is how you are going to get the cable from the "alcove" to the TV.

You might want to think about something like this

You just need something similar to what I gave above, that one doesn't repeat the remote signal though this one does;

That's a very small one and ideal for your LCD, they are called AV senders anyway.

Here's the normal size ones but this model lets you send two sources so you can have a DVD player and Sky Box both being transmitted to your TV

Just do something like this

http://www.artisan-design.co.uk/k1.jpg

but samller and below the tv :) then run any cables out the back, up inside the chimney and out by the TV. It will take a bit of work, but i say if you are going to do it, and plan on living in your house for a while, you may as well do it properly

above pic looks really nice but we dont want to lose the fire
we have a hang on the wall fire and then the tv will han a few inches above it,the original fire has been blocked of
i dont think we could knock a hole in wall unless it was below fire level as that is where the lintel sits so i dont think making a hole is an option
so i will have to go for te other option
thanks everyone, have left u some rep
