I had a doctor from Sweden offer plenty of cash for my mobile phone on eBay...

He really needed it for his Uncle in Nigeria.

Of course, parted with the phone 6 months ago and still awaiting the £100 cheque (Nokia 5110).

Apparently, there are some issues with wiring the money into my account.

Some day it will come, then I can feed the kids...

I purchased the star wars trilogy 3 weeks before it came out about £5 cheaper than anywhere else. By the time the release date came round, the company had vanished. Figured I was covered by paypal as thats how I paid, but they just said the funds weren't available. It's still showing as an outstanding case on paypal even though they say it's closed!

Not been done since then!

May be of concern to others!

A night or two back, a post came on the forum about a Nintendo Wii for £180, and to go now. It was late on, probs back of midnight.

When you clicked the link, it took you to a page which was blank, and stated you need to have IE 6 installed (which i knew i did) and also tried to start some ActiveX d/l i think.

Anyway, i just closed all this, and thought no more.

Later, i noticed i had an icon on my desktop (white circle, with a blue arrow sign, like that symboling a 'play' sign on a remote control), and i think it said something like IE, as in Internet Explorer.

Not knowing what it was, i deleted it.

THEN !!

Today, i went to pay for something using Paypal, as i believed i had over £200 in my account. To my surprise, it said i had to add funds, for an item costing just over £100

I logged into Paypal, to see i only had £38 in my account

I then noticed i had some unauthorized activity, just after 5am this morning, which took $449, which was £223!

I then noticed i had an email, which was from this same company, RenChi (which i think is just www.RenChi.com). This email was address to myself AND a 'sshirazz'.

The email says something like 'Dear Abdul.....', which clearly isn't me, and goes on to ask for a photograph of the front and back of my credit card, and also a copy of my billing address, etc. No, i didn't do this, lol, and had already filed complaint with Paypal beforehand.

The thing is though, i think this 'sshiraz', which email was also addressed to, listed the original post, as i was SURE i had seen the name before!

I couldn't find the post, so i Googled the name and 'hotukdeals'. Two things came up, one for a camera or something, and one for a Wii, for £180. When i clicked it, the page that comes up just says there is an error, and i can't see the original listing.

Paypal are onto it for me, but has meant i've had to change all my passwords, etc, to TRY and safeguard myself.

Just wondering if anyone else has had same experience, or if have even checked?

Please beware !!

First time I remember was on Ebay for a mobile, the seller didn reply for a week then said they needed the cash desperatly by 4p, but the surname was different, paid and never heard anything ever again.

Found out the guy was a druggie who used the cash to buy drugs.
