Bought something only to find out that there is something missing inside when you got it home ? If so, what did you do about it ?

I bought Matrix Trilogy (HD-DVD) from WHSmiths on pre-order back in september as an early xmas pressie purchase. I gave it to my father yesterday as he is going to Tenerife for xmas but the disc for "The Matrix" was missing !!!!

As i have had it 3 months i thought i had lost out but to my suprise i emailed WHSmiths about it and explained the situation and they are going to send out a replacement box set tomorrow

wow how nice of them? I wonder if this was a problem with alot of discs so they knew this was true or whether they just have good CS.

I suppose I should, But never do, check things when I buy them but I always feel so rude! The amount of times i've gone through drive through McD's then gone to eat my dinner and had the wrong thing!

Bought a sealed Lethal Weapon 3 for my mates b'day from Fopp (remember them) a fair while back.He started to watch it, got confused, popped the disc out, it was LW2!!! I phoned Fopp, who said it was impossible for the wrong disc to be in there. Angrily, I told the manager that he was rubbish and I hoped the company went bust and he lost his job...

Thumbs up for WH Smiths - it's something I'm always worried that will happen but thankfully hasn't yet, each time I've thought I'm missing a disc it's been in another compartment or something. I was on my way to return a Dreamcast game as the case was delivered empty when I discovered the front part opened as well and the game was there...that would have been embarassing!

Its kinda happened to me with the Babylon 5 Boxset i got here.

One of the series has 2 of the same discs in it. Got it ages ago, but its taken me sooooooo long to get through it all lol.
Gonna buy another of the single sets and return the dodgy one back to them for refund in its place.

I bought a bicycle from Halfords and when I put it together I discovered it had no wheels. Not one to complain, I used it regardless.

We bought a GBA game and only got the box, called play.com and they said it was nothing to do with them, contact the manufacturer. Called manufacturer and they said its nothing to do with them, call play.com....

Since I bought a Ricky Gervias DVD that had no disc in it, I always give the box a gentle rattle to make sure a DVD is in there before I wrap anything now.

Doesn't really help if the wrong disc is in the box though. :)
