They're ok. Owned by DSGi, based in France and pure online retailer ... not sure what more info you'd like

I ordered from them once, ordering an item they claimed to have in stock. It wasn't in stock. They never delievered it, and never gave me a refund. Since they're based in France, I had zero legal power to do anything to reclaim my funds.

My story is by no means unique. Avoid them. Yes, you save a little cash with them, but it's not worth the risk.

The fact they're based in france has nothing to do with your legal power

It does. Trading Standards can't help, UK trade laws have no effect, I can't take them to court.

I agree, TS won't help you as it's got power only in UK, but I'm sure there is the TS in France where this can be escalated.

Avoid from me.

Based in France, it's where DSGi (PC World, Currys, Dixons) clear out their poorer quality goods, safe in the knowledge that the Sales of Goods Act won't apply. Your rights are very limited if you buy from France.

So, all I need to do is learn French, google my nuts off to find the equivelent French agency, and hope that they'll help me out, even despite them having no obligation to, since I'm not a French tax payer, and legally, the transaction might not even be within their remit under French law?

Come on. There is no legal protection when you buy with Pixmania. Don't try and delude yourself into thinking otherwise, or you too will lose money to them.

They accept paypal, could this be a safeguard!
I was looking at a wii fit they had!

We were going to buy a fridge from Pixmania but after some of the horror stories I heard on here, we just avoided them...better to spend the extra pennies and safeguard the banknotes with a reputable seller if anything goes wrong.

No as if you have an issue after 45 days you cannot do anything with PP either. Oh an pp will only cover you for INR.

But I am then not covered by my VISA card??

It's not that easy, people who end up with problems struggle to get a resolution, it's really not worth the risk. Read some reviews on them:thumbsup:

Even better, I used to work for them

So you will know how many people have problems then:thumbsup:

Eventhough they are French and have (maybe had) different operation model the PCWorld, Currys and Dixons - they are still part of same group so YES don't expect anything special :)
