For £66? Worth it?

Or should i get an ordinary DVD drive and get my HD material from other sources?

Not a bad price, would be worth taking a look at Anyhddvd to get around the blu-ray region code though.

Wheres that from? I want to play blu rays on pc and not PS3 a lot.

i would say its worth it, a normal dvdrw drive with lightscribe costs about 18 (play i think), so for 50 pounds you get a drive that reads blu ray and hd dvds

It seems fine but its about £75 inc VAT and next day delivery

But remember you will need a good pc to run the movies.

Or if you have DVI on your board or graphics card just get a HDMI-DVI convertor

yeh got dvi to vga convertor - but its a dvi slot on my other pc

VGA is fine for outputting hd.

If you're going to use it now then get it. Prices will continue to come down of course, but I haven't heard of any large price drops immanent.

I assume you're using it for movies as you mention HD, if you want it for blu-ray program disks you might as well wait since there are very few out.

Emasu dont listen to these newbs, if its for your room then okay get it.

If its for the main room then dont bother, fork out a little bit extra and get your self a serious piece of kit.

lol @ VGA

I almost picked up a brand new xbox 360 hd dvd player for £39.99 from work but I resisted as they will continue to fall in price. The drive listed sounds decent

Wow they have been £19.99 in Gamestation for a few months now.

Looks worthwhile to me.

I've only got DVDR burner in my HTPC - so will probably plump for this myself and make use of the bargain deals that are around for HD-DVDs. Not really bothered about Bluray - but you cant ignore it.

Quite obviously you wouldn't. You don't own own - and it would take several years of saving your pocket money to afford one.

Indeed you probably have. Its not very wise to leave your homework to the last minute.
