Im thinking of buying an HD tele off from littlewoods....i know but it lets me pay it up lol

Anyway all they seem to show is the resolusions and not if its 1080p etc

can anyone help me with a guide

480i - The picture is 704x480 - (60/2 interlaced frames per second)
= 30 complete frames per second.
480p - The picture is 704x480 - 60 complete frames per second.
720p - The picture is 1280x720 - 60 complete frames per second.
1080i - The picture is 1920x1080 - (60/2 interlaced frames per second)
= 30 complete frames per second.
1080p - The picture is 1920x1080 - 60 complete frames per second.

And in laymans terms.

The more lines the better (the number after the "x" in the list above), and "p" at the end is better than "i"

1080p is the best.
1080i is the next best.
720p next best
480p / 480i - worst

but you wont notice the difference between 720p and 1080p (except in your pocket!).

unless you buy a huge tv and sit very very close to it (e.g. sit 3 feet from a 50inch plasma).

2500:1 contrast is very poor

depends on the brand tho imo

def recommend this, bought it last year (mainly for the xbox) and its great have to be very careful with regards to screen burn with it though
