I am waiting on a parcel, it left irvine, approx 113 miles from me. first stop? Droitwich....approx 270 miles from me......nextstop?......warrington....180 miles from me......after that i know for a fact it will go to edinburgh which is still 40miles away. 7 days they have had it so far. Useless. never again.

its a parcel i sent first, being returned to me because hdnl were unable to deliver after 3 attempts. i first sent it out 3 weeks ago. Genuinely, i thought citylink were bad, but this takes the biscuit.

Good luck

City Link is the worst. I sent a parcel for 24 Hour delivery and got there in 2 weeks, their excuse was the driver ran out of time. Even after the 3rd day when I contacted the depot and was told it would be upgraded to 9AM priority next day.

Compared with other couriers the extra insurance is cheap, shame you have to pay for them to sign for the parcel mind. Do they insure above £250?

Not sure.

Awful courier - know from recent experience. Booked a 24 hour service for 2x heavy parcels, got booking confirmation.. Even the receipt the courier left when collecting said "24H" on it... Then when it was late i rang them up... "Sorry it's been booked for 48 hour".. They couldn't even explain why it said "24H" on the receipt, bunch of idiots.

I only ever use CityLink now through parcelmonkey.co.uk - never had a problem with them.

HDNL are the best couriers our way, quick to deliver and great service.
#13
I will stick to dhl after this, they have never let me down.
#14
if its been attempted 3 times then it has......its down to the receiver to arrange a convenient time and date

they are 1 of the best couriers for rearranging.....online, by fone.....straight through

my hermes are the worst.....

HDNL own DHL now - and from my experience with DHL... Just as bad as HDNL...

Parcelforce or Citylink have always been the most reliable for me
#16
Only ever had one problem with HDNL, and it was with my strangely never arrived Modern Warfare 2 on release day... Besides that though, they've always been reliable enough for me. It's the same for any company in any field though, there'll be plenty of satisfied customers but then there'll always be the disgruntled ones who'll warn you to stay away from them at all costs!
#17
TNT all the way for reliability. At the end of the day you get what you pay for.

Yes - they bought both the UK domestic and business parcel divisions.. Which funnily enough - directly applies to this thread.

DHL have just as bad a reputation as HDNL does for domestic parcel delivery in the UK
#20
myhermes have been pretty good, only used them 2 or 3 times so far but they've all arrived within 2-3 days (on 3-5day delivery estimates)

Oddly - since we are talking about UK parcel delivery.. You'd think it was patently clear the point i was making, unfortunately.. It was you who decided to be a smart arse.. Then again i don't think the OP is really gonna care if say HDNL don't own DHLs (lets say) slovakia division, but nice that you've bought that topic forward.

Might of been wiser if you actually just took the time to offer him some future alternatives for parcel delivery (like the rest of us), rather than faffing about.
#23
DHL have a depot real close to me, they always fast delivering for me and friendly when delivering to me and collecting. When using their 72hour service, all my parcels were delivered next day. But this i think was my first time using hdnl to deliver, not been the best experiance. so hence, never again.

lol dhl do international delivery and they still have other operations in this country

i was merely pointing out that DHL the company (there is a distinction)has NOT been bought by HDNL

thats all.....cant be bothered with someone crying post after post just because they have been corrected:cry::lazy::lazy:

i have given my opinions countless times on parcel delivery and ups economy(through interparcel) 2-3 day service deliver next day 99% of the time

I'd just be concerned about HDNL now owning DHL (UK - just for you caspar).

It may be the case that some of HDNL traits infect DHL a little bit, i think the idea is to roll DHL into and under the HDNL brand in the future.

As others have said - much more reliable couriers to choose from.. TNT, Parcelforce, CityLink and DPD (Altho i wouldn't know where u could get DPD)

You'd think the distinction wouldn't need to be made since the majority of us... Live in the UK, OP Is posting within the UK, HDNL has bought DHL UK essentially since owning both UK domestic and business divisions.. and well.. I'd mention another UKisms, but you're just being pedantic.

On ya bike please chap - Theres no "prove somebody wrong" opportunity to be had here sunshine. Get ya kicks elsewhere.

Course they have a number of operations in the U.K - but we aren't talking about (just for instance) DHL freight are we.. We are talking about UK domestic parcel delivery.. Perhaps thats the distinction you need to recognise. When somebody on here is sending a container full of tamagotchis to venezuela which is delayed, i'll make sure to reference it accordingly.

Once again - off you trot.

Wriggling out of my an mistake - as i've pointed out already. I didn't disagree, quite the oppositie. This seems to have escaped you. Just felt you were being a pedantic and irritating fool for the sake of it

What is also amusing is you seem to think i'm going to lose sleep over this, quite entertaining you are. How will i cope, life just doesn't have much meaning anymore... :p

To answer the OPs original question...YES, Home Delivery Network are by far the worst courier I have ever had the misfortune to use and would recommend that you should use ANYONE else before these cretins if you have the choice!

You really have lost the plot - i'm not repeating myself any longer. You just don't seem to get it, or just can't read..

Losing sleep and stuff - well you seem to think i was "crying" - was the natural progression. Have fun :)

I know we all have different experiences but I only started to use HDNL a few months back for bulky ebay items and have never had an issue with either the pick up or delivery. Admittedly I only send a parcel every now, so I am by no means a regular user of HDNL but the delivery has always been within 3 days which is what I paid for.
#39
Our local DHL are abysmal ....... we live on a main road and twice now they have hung onto my new mobiles from O2 and not managed to deliver them without me ringing and ringing to demand delivery :-(. The first one swore blind he had put a card thro the door but he hadnt even been near the place, then next day he said we werent answering the door .... eventually a different driver brought the phone and said the original driver was useless and he'd been chasing his parcels up for ages. The 2nd one (my new Desire !) just didnt appear for days even though it showed as out for delivery online ..... then showed as unable to locate .... when I rang and asked if the driver had a sat nav the snotty woman on the phone at the depot put the phone down on me ! GRRRR !
