The last time i seen him on telly he didnt look well enough to do any live shows.Naturally funny and extremely likeable i hope he is up to it.
#2
I hope so too. Never seen him live so may be my last chance to see an extremely funny guy. Having lived in Scotland for years, his observations hit home. Glasgow was full of Volvo drivers in the 1980s and the North Sea is perishingly cold.

Will he be coming down from his million pound castle or his million dollar us home to do these shows where he will no doubt be banging on about life in the Glasgow shipyards when he was a poor wee lad ?

The guy makes me cringe with his stereotypical Glaswegian "banter"

I've been in Glasgow in the 80s/90s/00s and he is spot on with his observations. He';s not everyone's cup of tea but I like him and can't wait to get my ticket.

He's rich because people can relate to the stuff he talks about, and laugh along with him. He's clearly good at what he does, and I personally applaud him for doing so well, having come from pretty humble beginnings. Who cares if he lives in a castle?

Why shouldn't he have these things? He talks about growing up in Glasgow and his experiences. His may be different from yours but they are just as valid. Thousands of people will be glad to see him.
#13
His comedy is based on life events when he lived in Glasgow 40 years ago. Granted he is funny and some of his travel shows were great but he still finds the need to drone on about a hard life which he left behind ages ago.

Its like that guy john bishop banging on about a hard life in Liverpool whilst living in a million pound property in Cheshire.

Kevin Bridges does that about Scotland, Rhod Gilbert does it about Wales, some of the comics from Northern England do it about their own areas.

Thats true but they generally dont get onto US/Aus/NZ tv stations where they stereotype their own people to earn a buck .

I think he is awesome, genuinely one of the funniest blokes on the planet. I mean how many more comedians can get the whole audience laughing their heads up when only 10% know WTF he is saying?

10% laugh so the rest follow, come on man, the guy is a genius!

P.S. I am one of the 90%. ;)

I've been to the Hydro once and I didn't find it too bad. Not been to the Auditorium though and I've got my ticket for the Monday night in the stalls. Not too close but close enough. So happy :)

This great man wrote my fave joke.

Ive just googled to paste it here but i cant find it anywhere.

Joke about 2 cameramen, a pair of trainers and lions.

(I could post it from memory here but only the Big Yin does it justice in the way he tells it)
