The irons effected by the recall are those with the codes: 15081, 18651, 18720, 18741, 18742, 18743, 19220, 19221, 19222, 19400, 19840, 20260, 20280, 20550-10, 20560-10.

If you have one of the above models, the firm then says you need to check the five-digit batch code.

"If the batch code starts with 045 through to 365 and ends with 12 or starts with 001 through to 195 and ends with 13, then you have an affected Iron.

"If you do have an affected iron, please stop using it immediately."

My iron is affected. Cant get through on phone. Can I take it back to where I purchased it?
#10
I bought one in may and it set on fire where the wire goes into the iron, it burnt my hand and wrist and now I have a small scar.

I was just about to purchase a Russell Hobbs iron tomorrow. So what would people recommend instead?
#12
Anyone trying to get through it took me half hour so keep on hold
#13
Mine is affected, I've just rang the number to get to an automatic response saying they're experiencing a high number of calls and I should call back later. They then cut me off. Great!

#16

As shown on watchdog. If you want to make a few pound from shock & pain now's your chance by lawyering up. The tame lawyer had about 8 cases he was already chasing up.

My Russell Hobbs Iron.
Model No:18651
Batch No:21012

So it looks like I've got an affected iron ... Their helpline says they are experiencing high call volumes and to call back later, followed by a text saying they'll be in touch

Yes, you seem to be fine - doesn't sound like batch codes ending 14 are at all affected

Just burnt my face trying to read the code on the bottom, guess mine is one of the recalled models.

I had one of these irons and it literally blew up while I was using it about four months ago. Because it was over a year old I assumed out of warranty and binned it. I had sparks from the plug socket and everything.
