Heads up - Starbucks Roast Coffee Latin American Filter Coffee 250g Packet increases from £3.37 to £3.99 @ Tesco!
Aswell as 'Deals' section, hotukdeals needs a 'Rip off' section, tried to post as a so called 'Deal' but was marked as spam? Probably by Tesco.
So much for low everyday prices -
Tesco has just increased Starbucks Latin American Filter Coffee Packet (250g) from £3.37 to £3.99.
Slightly shocked (as I buy this every week) - I had to do a double take on the price.
I thought it was price flexing at my Local Store, but it turns out to be national - that's a 18.5% increase! So is this Starbucks doing, or Tesco's? Coffee commodity prices have dropped the last 3 months, so it isn't that.
I live on this stuff, there isn't another Coffee I would drink,
so I think I'm giving up Coffee!. (If my post's become more irrate - this is the reason).
It was actally good value, because unlike most Filter Coffee Packs it was 250g as opposed to 227g, so its roughly 10% more than nearly all other packets on the shelf. Someone at Tesco obviously decided the comparable price per 100g wasn't high enough, or in a months time there will be a crappy 'Price Drop' £3.99 to £3.50, as per usual.
Just shows what a rip off Tesco really is, if they can increase prices by such a large amount on an everyday item.
I'm really starting to hate Tesco with a passion. Store Layouts have become cluttered. Had to wait 15 minutes at checkouts yesterday and the self checkout queue wasn't any better 10-15 deep too.
Tesco, don't think Customers don't notice. It remind me of a pack of wolves (Tesco) vying for their prey. Disgraceful practices.

The Packet size has always being 250gm, they haven't increased the size of the packet and increased the price, they have just increased the price.
Its an 18.39% increase.

Wholesale prices of Coffee have actually fallen the last three months.
Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys haven't increased price, as far as I'm aware. Actually might be a good one to do the Price Match with Asda 10% of the difference.

Best hurry up then i'm sure the others will have to hike their price when they have to buy their next batch. Supermarkets buy in bulk so price increases do not always come in small increments. eg Morrisons have just increased the price of their lean steak mince by nearly 50p in one go best not shop there as well then.

Is the price of lean steak mince an 18.39% rise too? You might have a point then.
Its a large price increase for an everyday branded item, not dissimilar to buying Tetley Teabags.

No, I only moan about 18.39% price increases. Can we have a Tesco 'Price Up' aswell as Tesco 'Price Drop'? Trouble the isles would be full of them! (Price Up that is). Hope your gettting an 18.39% increase in your pay packet for the excellent work your doing for Tesco's Prices.

Probably right, I've a good coffee supplier at a local Saturday Market - really need to get myself out of Tesco and source elsewhere. I think this is the incentive I need.Thanks.
