Heads up, Tesco points on deal will change to triple value after Christmas!

My partner is a manager at tesco and just heard that they are changing their clubcard deal just after Christmas.
Points can no longer be exchanged for four times their value but it will change to three times their value.
Not great if you're saving up for something big!!

According to MSE this starts on 6th of December so that is your DEADLINE

On MSE they say it will change at the beginning of December so you need to change them before then to get 4 times the value.
Not just the government cost-cutting then - you'd think Tesco could continue to afford "4 times the value" with the profit they're making.

often wondered how this actually works for tesco-we always swap for prezzo/pizza express and streat restaurant vouchers at 4x value. Now if I trade 50 quid of tesco vouchers for £200 pounds of pizza express,I wonder how much money tesco actually pay pizza express?(I bet it isnt 200 quid)

If you like the food you will re-visit and pass on that it is good to friends, family etc...

Marketing = profits

Not completely related but when I went to the zoo and used the vouchers on Miles Tea the Zoo told me that Miles tea pay them a set amount as a donation regardless of how many people take up the offer.
Obviously Pizza Express is not a charity so will work differently but it is amazing how little companies pay to get tickets and vouchers.

I got nearly 2k for a holiday in Florida 2 years ago, pretty sure Tesco wouldn't give virgin that, but then not sure virgin would take the hit ?

So did we - that's when the vouchers are really worth it. However think Virgin have gotten fed up with the people using them because there's a limit to how much you can use - think the last time we checked you can only use £700 worth of vouchers now in one go.

less tesco shopping for me then, no more (free) home deliveries either. nice one tesco :(

good to know-at least I will get my 4x restaurant vouchers then-I spose they will inform everyone of the impending change when the next statement arrives-will be interesting too see how big a backlash they get from this,or if they have any interesting alternative offers.

You might have to shop at Asda :p

I wonder how many people spent loads of their vouchers after the last time someone said something like this? Last time was definitely scaremongering, this time I believe Tesco could just do it. http://www.hotukdeals.com/misc/tesco-to-scrap-clubcard-deals/205379?page=1

Suppose it will be to take some of the hit of offering double vouchers in store every so often
#25
How long do the vouchers for restaurants last???
#26
I read today at work that they can only keep offering double points per £1 if they reduce the value of Deals to 3Xs! It stated they are still the best points sceme out there!

you can collect upto and including 23rd October (next Saturday) so expect them to arrive by 2nd week of November - which is the last chance for 4 x rewards
#28
Bad move, Tesco. The points are worth little enough even as things stand, but after this reduction more and more people are going to ditch the Clubcard scheme altogether and shop somewhere much cheaper, such as Lidl.

Given that most of the Clubcard deals are priced at around twice the normal rate, only getting 3x instead of 4x makes it a pretty unappealing scheme now.

Just noticed, some things on the website now say

Price change : From 6 December every £17.00 in vouchers will give you 1 ZoneAlarm® Extreme Security token

but others dont, does this mean it wont be affecting all of them?? They make it sound like it will be them all, but have only put warnings on some
